BADASS of New England
An automobile club for the enthusiast who enjoys the last of the big GM cars. The rear wheel drive B and D bodys. Chevrolet Impala SS, Caprice, 9C1, Buick Roadmaster, Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser, Cadillac Fleetwood
And here's a nice 96 Caprice in MMM (Medium Marblehead Metallic- spread it around) same color as mine. Looks to be a 4.3 car with the single exhaust. http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/4496618920.html

The burst seams in that DCM Caprice could be fixed with a curved sewing needle
I have to get off my ass and get the SS fixed so I can stop being tempted by things like that. Â Â

Rebuilt a couple weeks ago! lol
Get a load of the guy in the picture here..."Yah so ah...I wondah if the frame's all rotted out kehd..."
Anyone familiar with this car at all? Thinking about taking the trip from Peabody to check it out and finally get myself back into the B-body game
welllllllllll going down saturday to hopefully pick it up! Wish me luck boys!
Well...so much for that! 17yo kid selling it, clearly not as truthful as he should have been. Â
Total bucket. Rocker panels were rotted out where they meet the B-pillar, both sides. Surprisingly the quarters were clean.  Gas tank straps rotted through and tank was held up with a ratchet strap   . Rust all over the roof, in a weird pattern too.  Lots of it near the rear window seal and probably close to 20 small paint chips on the roof that have begun rusting.
Underneath wasn't any better. Â Floor panels were solid but front end had more play than i've ever seen. Sway bar end link bushing were completely missing?? Â Pinion seal leak and oil leak out of the pan and the oil cooler i believe. Â
Interior was trashed. Seats look much worse in person. Â Arm rest on the driver door came off in my hand. Â And its missing ALL of the climate control knobs! How do those go missing?! Â Carpet is stained beyond belief.
Driving it was terrifying. Â The worst brake pulsation ive ever felt! Â Not to mention the pedal needs to be pushed beyond 1/2 way before the brakes even begin grabbing. Transmission felt funky too, not surprising. The engine sounded surprisingly nice considering the rest of the cars condition, though the check engine light came on as soon as I pulled back in the driveway...
Anyone know of an LT1 Caprice around for $2500ish??? Running out of patience trying to find a decent one! Â

Man, that sucks! I was hoping it would turn out to be a decent car since it's a B4U apparently.

It really had the perfect combination. DCM Paint, LT1, G80, B4U, leather etc etc...just wasn't cared for.

Ugh I remember that car. I was pumped about it because it was cheap and the guy says to me, "it has no rust that I know of" I show up and the first thing I see is the arm sized holes in the 1/4 panels. I was annoyed and just left without talking to the guy lol

Honestly would be perfect for that if someone is looking. All the body panels were straight, tons of salvageable interior too.

I forget if I already threw this up or someone else did...it's been on CL for a while and doesn't look half bad in the pictures, needs a carpet and door moldings (or peel the rest of them off, then cut and buff it, drive it)
There is a coupe parts cah at Hollands with Rallye wheels on it.

I kind of want that thing myself. It's a 301 but who cares. I'm supposed to be getting a free Astro van however in the next couple of weeks that I still don't know what I'm going to do with. Â Â

I've seen a few SS trunk emblems floating around in that color on ebay/issf. That color was slated to replace DGGM in 96 but GM did as GM does and just dropped it.

I've seen the trunk emblems, and I swear I saw a few grilles as well. I've heard both it was to replace the DGGM and also to just be added along with possibly PPM.
I think Dave needs another car or two to add to that picture, such as a 1975 Impala.

Is that B4U the kid from the Boston area that bought the LTZ hood ornament from me?

That's what I was getting at as if you look close the car has the LTZ emblem added. But there are some mods from his car in his sig not consistent with this one...who knows? Says this one's on the North Shore instead of south. Funny it's such a similar vehicle.

I did get to see it in person. It's in excellent shape. Lots of nice mods.
