Well thanks for taking a look anyways! I kinda figured it wasn't stored inside, seeing as the clearcoat is toast. Too bad it's totally junk.

Curiosity got the best of me today.  Took a look at this wagon as it was only a 1/2 hour away.  By the pictures, description and talking to the guy, I thought what the heck.  He made it sound like one of those storied barn finds.  It was anything but.  It's never seen a barn or a garage.  It had rust holes you could put your fist through.  There is no way this could even pass inspection.  I brought a battery pack so I could check the mileage, as the guy had know idea.  He was selling it for someone.  It has 188K.  As I thought and confirmed by Dave P., it was at LT1, not a 4.3.

It did have nice seats and the interior was dirty but not bad shape.  It's a parts car, that if I was looking, wouldn't be worth anymore than $350.

Anyways that's what I did this PM.

Tom

Too bad it's such a mess, it's a nice color combo.

I see that driving around all the time. Smile I've yet to see it with a full set of "wide whites" on it though. It's always got at least one odd tire on it.

Just a blue on blue box body caprice wagon. Also, turns out it wasn't my neighbors car as his is still sitting in the same spot sinking into the ground. I should go talk to them.

Hence the question mark. However even a 4.3L would be an upgrade over whatever engine the car left the factory with.

Looks like the smaller L99 alternator. Obviously there's other reasons why the 140 isn't used. Would be pretty dumb to swap in an L99 and call it a "hot rod." Probably found out after it made no power and trying to trick people into buying it.

Funny thing is, I posted the first ad for it a month ago, and the seller was not shy about the fact it is a 4.3L. Now it seems some other guy bought it and is trying to pass it off as an LT1 for an extra 2 grand without putting any additional effort into the car besides washing it and taking better photos. Lame.

However, I'd drive the hell out of this truck car thing. I dig it.

Personally I think the car is hacked and would require a whole alotta work. At minimum a new harness. BTDT with a 6.0L swapped 95 Camaro. Could be a good deal for someone wanting a project.
