| So heres the new car, finally got pictures off the phone and was able to get a laptop to start posting on this build! Its a white 1996 caprice LT1 w/ factory dual exhaust and mecanical fan, blue leather interior, 141k beat on (im sure) miles, cracked frame, leaking oil, leaking exhaust, crappy carpet, rear lower quarters falling apart, WTF happened?!?!?!? New England B-body. I plan on transplanting my lt1 and 4l60e with the 53,000 miles on it from my 96 DGGM donor car im stripping, and redo the entire interior. got boxes of stuff ready to go... just waiting for the good weather. no garage=crappy "tent" builds for me. but already got a few things done. I'd like to take care of the soft spot on the frame first before doing any motor swap I have no idea whats up with the back seat, it feels like they upholstered over the factory leather, which is kinda weird cuz usually its the back seat thats mint (never sat on) And the drivers seat is shot, but the front seats look nice. gonna try and go out there today and mess with some stuff. already broke the hood release cable so i'll be pulling the one from the dggm today i think. | |

| Just installed the smoked tail lights also did the smoked euro headlights and painted the ebay impala grille color matched with duplicolor "bright white" and installed a custom wire mesh over the factory mesh. got a bowtie emblem from a cavalier in blue and one from a z24 thats red, just deciding what one looks better before installing | |

| finally got the motor and trans out of the DGGM, fought me the whole way, I took off most of the accessories before trying to lift it out, so now I've got a bin full lof nuts and bolts that i have NO IDEA where they go LOL. I'll have to use the other motor as a guide to reassemble before putting back in. pretty filthy for only 53k miles and looks like squirrels like b-bodies too, I seriously cant believe this car was driven so little over the years and is in this kinda shape, starting the degreasing/painting/upgrading/fixing this week | |

LOL, just gave me an idea, but I will make another thread to prevent a threadjack. And yeah, my car only had 57K when I got it, and you could tell it had been outside in the elements for ages and not cared for very well in that respect, they just maintained the mechanicals. There were pine needles in every damn seam and orifice of the car. I still need to polish it! | |

| The emblems are from late 90's cavalier (the ones on the trunk lid) fits directly in the impala grill. Its a "pocket item" from any junk yard. | |

| Thanks guys, I actually plan to remove the caprice classic emblems completely and I have "caprice" script emblems coming for the c pillars and one for the lower drivers side part of the grille. I'm actually thinkin of modifying the grille again. I like the fact that's its staying a caprice. A lot of ppl clone the impala. Back in 65 the caprice was first offered as a high trim package. The caprice's after that WERE the top model as the luxury high end full size. Funny how they switched that for the 94-96 revival. | |

| Got a little more done today, not much. been working on my wife's car and my brothers wagon all week. those 20" wheels i had on the black car i put on the 96 today, i think they are good, drove fine on the road, and YES I torqued them all down properly and I finally did the digital cluster mod, and changed the green readout to a red one. hopefully tomorrow i'll finish up the exhaust and be able to finally go get a sticker on it! | |

| it is a green filter, but the actual gauge led lights that light up the speedo and directionals are green, a very pale green. the filter intensifies the green to the color you normally see | |
