I have 3 cars that need to be scanned, what is a reasonable tool that will do this, having 13 cars i might as well buy one

yes you need cables I got mine here http://www.akmcables.com/ic.html their are cheaper ones out there http://www.pcmperformance.com/cables.html and you need the EE file for B-bodys http://www.ttspowersystems.com/DataMaster_downloads.html

So is your set up more of a reader code clearer or a tuner also, I'm kinda a moron and don't want to destroy my PCM by pushing the wrong key!

Datamaster just reads and displays all the data it can't hurt the pcm by reading it, plus you get 20 free runs before you have to buy it. Tunercat is the one for programing
