Tossing an idea by the club body. Tell me what you think.

I have been pondering an idea. So you guys tell me what you think.
I was thinking about a mid summer charity run in late June or early August to benefit either the homeless, or ASPCA: The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals or something else.
This of course it would be a run with a donation made, but 100% of that donation would go to the worthy cause and we would prsent a check made out to the charity's name and present it to them. And it would only be once this year.

This of coarse is just an idea. But I would like your imput. If no then no big deal. Just a thought.

is the only money collected from people in the run?
are other donations welcome?

have heard the term charity run alot but never knew how they worked.

I have never done one. But off the top of my head I would have a run by donation. to participate people would have to donate a fixed amount PER CAR. I was thinking $25-50. That money would be held by someone we all agree apon. The money would go to the bank and be exchanged for a check in that amount payable to the charity chosen. Then delivered to that charity, or presented.
Again this would be a one time or once a year thing.
And it is just an idea. I am not at this time making any plans to do such a run. I am just getting a idea of what people here are or not willing to do within the club.
I myself donate a little bit here and there to the ASPCA of New Hampshire. And have always thought of ways I could either do more or get others interested in helping.

Other or additional donations would be good, but not neccessary.

I figure it might not be much but it could help somewhere.

Unfortunately I often have trouble coming up with $25-$50 for myself.

$50 does seem a bit high. $25 is more like it, as it would have to be an amount that would not break any ones bank or discurage people from participating.
