In 1996, GM sold the old Chevy van alongside the new Express vans for a year, the old style were above a certain GVWR, 8500 pounds or something. Those vans came with a Vortec 350, but it had a special TBI intake on it and a throttle body like the other TBI engines. Just about the rest of the whole engine was Vortec.

Has anyone seen one of these in person? I know pulling a motor out of a van sucks, but that might be an easy swap to put into a 305 TBI car. Cool

Huh thats pretty cool. Off topic, but now that I think about it, I seem to recall all '96 conversion vans were the older style van instead of the Express body. Also, ambulance/ commercial truck conversions used the older style vans as well.

I guess the 96-97 step vans also use this engine
