My summer vacation

I was visiting my mother and family in NC at the beginning of the month. I saw many square bodys, and a couple bubbles. I even visited a couple junk yars looking for rust free stuff, and a headliner. I got some nice sunvisors, but ll the headliners were junk. I even got a mint rear lic plate door that looked like it came directly from Arlington it was so clean. It was actually on a 91.




Day at the local Junk yard. No rot anyplace.

No rust on any of them. If I had the time, tools, and money, I would have gotten some.

Where in NC Bill? Theres one in Charlotte that had a DGGM Impala SS! I was shocked ! I tried to buy the whole car.

All those cars, and there were three grey headliners. They were all junk. So the search continues.

Why not just re-cover the headliner you have?

I went out to Colorado Springs last year, was pretty cool to see all the old junk they have out in the desert. I visited a truck wrecking yard and grabbed a couple things for my C10

I was going to go there, but they said they destroyed headliners moving vehicles, so chances are they were going to be no good.

Did you get a set of '91 tail lights or a subaru hood?

Billy, if you can get the board out of that car intact, I'd seriously try just covering it with that gray fake suede stuff. It actually looks real nice when done, I think you'll like the result.

Funny seeing those B-bodies with just oil and road grime on the frames.

Joanne fabrics. Like 20 bucks for the materials. Get some good 3M trim adhesive. Peel off old felt, brush the dust off, spray cardboard and back of fabric with gorilla snot. Merge. Trim. Reinstall. Easy peasy.

Done this numerous times in many different fabrics. I have a red headliner you can have for free if you want to pick it up and give it a shot.

Or you can pickup headliner fabric from an auto upholstery shop if you want the factory look. It comes with the thin foam padding attached.

I may have. It's cool seeing wrecking yards outside of the rust belt, you see stuff that was all crushed here 15 years ago.
