| Subject: No power windows all of the sudden......help? Wed Apr 23, 2014 5:50 pm | |
| So out of the blue...none of my windows work, either from the main master switch or any of the individual doors. And the circuit breaker gets hot fast. So I am assuming a broken wire somewhere. Has anyone else had an issue like this. Where should I start looking? Any help would be great. Thanks guys. | |

| Have you had trouble with any of your windows going up and down? Any noticeable damage to the wires that go through the body to the doors? The connections where the relays plug into, sometimes become sloppy and don't make a good connection. I'm sure you have swapped out the relays.

| Check connection at the master power switch. Also check the main + wire in that harness at the switch for 12v.
If one switch is disconnected at any of the 3 other doors the master switch won't work the others (if I remember correct) I would start with seeing if you have power coming into the system FIRST. Then check for it at the drivers rear (easiest to get to next) if you have power into the main but not at the rear switch then the master switch is junk.
If no power at the main switch check for continuity between the end of that power wire and the fuse panel. That should get you started. | |

| I think window and sear relays are the same. Swap out window for seat to see if it is the relay. Of coarse check fuse first. Good luck. | |

| Thanks for the replies.. I found the problem last night. There was a bare wire on the window lockout switch. It was rubbing on the steel plate that the door handle screws on to. Made sure it wont happen again. | |

| I have an issue with just the right rear. No worky worky with either switch. I just don't give a crap enough about a window that only goes down six inches to pull the door panel off. | |
