- Looking good Ant! Did you finish the console yet?
thanks Doug. i tried to airbrush the console, came out alright. when i cleared it thats when the problems started. not sure what happened but the clear reacted with the airbrush paint and wrinkled. had to resand the whole thing down and repaint. so its just black like it was when you saw it. ill take some pics today with it installed. What are you using for paint, and clear? Are the the same type. Does not have to be same manufacturer, but has to be same type. Sometime you have to put on several fog coats with half hour flash time between. Then once completly coated, then a final coat for luster. |

| ok, finally got some time to mess with the camera. heres most of the pics that bring where im at up to date. not sure ill get much time this weekend to mess with it. on to the pics.... these are the extended arms i got from Glen. thanks again. the uppers where missing some peices on the heim joint ends, so i ordered new bushing ends. and here they are assembled. this is why you cant run bolt in brackets with extended arms. the new parts to redo the rear set up. started pulling the interior. empty... marked the area to cut for the driveshaft. probably gonna make an adjustment on the size before i cut. and last... my SCARY sending unit. | |

| not much to update this week. ive had a rollercoaster week with my health, and the car was the last thing on my mind. nothing serious, feeling much better now. i WAS able to remove all the fuel lines. and the rear is ready to go outside to get the stock spring perches cut off. next weekend will bring more progress and pics. | |

| ok, so i kinda spaced that this past weekend was mothers day. didnt get as much time as i was hoping in on the car. but, i did put the time i had to good use. got the area in the back seat over the drive shaft cut. then into the trunk i went to start opening the area above the rear end. boy it sure is easy to get to the upper shock bolts with this mod. thats it for last weeks progress. the plan for this upcoming weekend is to atleast get the notches tacked in. but im really hoping to get further then that. | |

| HOLY CRAP.... as big as the trunks are on these cars, they just arent big enough for a guy my size to keep climbing in and out of.(no less then 50 times between yesterday and today) ive been removing metal like a surgeon trying not to cut the crossmember the upper control arms mount to. i think ive finally got it. now its ready fro me to go crazy with a flap disc and clean the frame rails up. clamped the notch in place to see about where it was going to sit. | |

thanks Doug. it will get paint after the new brackets are welded on. well my long weekend was spent helping others. put a set of cadi lights in a friends f150, and did a brake line and welded an exhaust hanger on the inlaws work van. no new pics. ive cut the notch plate off i had tacked on. had to do some refiguring. and cut the inner part of the wheel well to match where the notch is going to sit. headed to CT sat. or sun. this coming weekend to put some more work into gettin my brothers s10 bagged. not sure ill get much of anything done this weekend. BUT... i just put in for a long weekend next week. already told the wife if she makes plans dont include me because im living in the garage from fri. morn to sunday nite. so if not sooner look for some real nice updates the weekend of the 10th-11th-12th.

| some random pics of the notches at different stages. the top plate for the notches was to narrow, hmm what to do??? got some metal and widened them... the extended upper arms needed some adjusting. no turning back now.... tacked together to check fitment, they will be fully welded and gusseted. with the modified arms back in, the rear is solid against the crossmember, which has been cut out as of now, pics coming later. in this pic you can also see that my 5th brake line is almost out of slack....... which is one of my 2 BIG problems. heres the material i will use in the front to notch for the tie rods. they have been sand blasted (thanks indigo) since these pics. about my 2 problems... the first one is the brake line, the rear has almost no travel in either direction before the line becomes pulled tight. im working with Brandon(bfurches) to try and get a longer line made up. the second prob is the rear end, the ss rear i put in to get the wider rear stance. now has made the rear to wide to tuck up in the quarter. this prob is not much of a setback, as i already got a narrower 9c1 rear from Mike. so the cars not on the road for the 10th like i was hoping. not to suprised though... you get used to it after awhile. so my new goal is a show in CT the 17th of sept. if i dont make that one my last chance will be the fall cruise, i sure hope thats not the case. | |

| still shootin for the show in CT on the 17th. most of the heavy welding is done in the back. need to wait to get my tires mounted before the sheet metal work starts. ive cut alot of the wheel wells in the back to ready them for the wheel/tire. test fitting the rim with no tire on it, it looks like the tire is gonna be real close to, if not hitting the rear door latch striker. fingers crossed i dont have to relocate that.. both my problems are taken care of.. thanks Bill and Mike. ive got the bags out of the front and started to mark for the tie rod notches. ill do my best to get some pics up over the long weekend. | |

just turn up the radio.... got home a late from ct yesterday. had a great time though, saw Mike with his impala. also saw someone i havent seen in a long while, Chris P., we had a long talk catchin up. sorry our walking chat ended so soon, seemed like every time i turned around there was someone else i knew, it was good seeing you, and hope you can make it to the fall cruise. got to catch up with alot of other friends i havent seen in a while also. on with the pics. tear down of the new rear. ss rear and the 9c1 rear. ss rear 9c1 rear this is pretty much where the wheel will sit when aired out. yolk comin up through the floor, still gotta trim a little so it has room to spin. was starting to wonder if i was gonna come to the trans first or where the drive shaft stopped hitting the floor... brackets almost done. i know they look unlevel in the pic, i think it might be the cut floor. stack o wheels awaiting for there shoes to be mounted. gonna just run them the way they are the rest of this year, then ill have them stripped and powder coated over the winter. da shooz junk yard score to replace the scary sending unit. i almost shat myself when i spotted this gem. not bad for $20.. blasted tie rod notches. 2 years of layin the tie rods on the frame left little guess work. cut out. jacked up to make sure i cut enough. and almost finished. and ive decided this is going to be the thread i post all the work done to the car from here on out. i hate searching for my old threads. so heres the first none suspension related mod. old hole from the universal manual roof. roof section of new roof. guts of the new roof. trimmed off the extra metal. roof scribed. and cut. tacked in, if it looks buckled a little in the front, it was, fixed now. glass test fit. ahhh. oohhhhh....thanks again Billy Mac thats it for now.... hopin to be able to bring it to the fall cruise.
