| OK guys it's official, 95 B4U is going to recieve a T56 transplant. I'm starting to search for a T-56 so I guess I need one out of 92-97 f body? Is this the only one that I should be searching? LMK guys cause I don't have a clue about how to install and really what to look for. I did learn on a standard when I was 14 ,so driving one is going to be a blast, I can't wait! Thanks guys | |

| No T56 in '92s F-bodies. 93s had two with lower gear ratios (and torque ratings). You'll have to decide if they are acceptable.
I vote for one from a Firebird. We don't need people hacking up nice Camaros just to get the tranny.

| Like Jim said, 93-97 F body. 93 M29 has a lower torque rating, but the ratios are better suited to a higher gear like a 3.42 or 3.73 to try and keep the driveshaft revs down and maybe avoid having to buy an aluminum driveshaft. If you're just gonna street drive it, a stock clutch will be fine. I use the Autozone clutch. And I think I am on my 7th warranty swap. If you are going to race it, go with a stock LT4 setup. That's what I should have done both times. Right now I have a Zoom HP clutch. Sucks. I get my tranny's from Robertson's in Wareham, Ma. http://robertsonautosalvage.net/ $1100 for EVERYTHING. <---TWICE! Including the wiring harness, clutch, flywheel, shifter, crossmember, mount, tranny, hydraulics, pedals, switches, and all associated bolts and hardware. One stop shopping is hard to beat. That, an F2B kit, and a weekend of thrashing, and you have a T56 Bee for 1500 bucks. Not bad. Plan on gears soon, though, if you don't have them already. Maybe adriveshaft, too, if you have vibes. These two items are another G easy, so keep that in mind. Hope you'll be rowin' your boat soon! Ain't nuthin' better! | |

| thats about the going price. and when i bought mine on e-bay. it started at around $1400.00 for every thing. but in the last couple of mins. some one wanted it as bad as i did. well not as bad as me. i had my max bid quite high. i,ll admit i paid to much. but it was worth it. | |

| So my orig drive shaft will work with the T56? I have vibration issues with my DS at high speeds, so I'm most likely going to get a Al DS. | |

| Did a search for a 1994-97 T56 and didn't find anything. Going to call Robertson's auto salvage Monday and see what they have. They showed nothing online. | |

| Tom, there are some decent deals on CL right now, a couple T56s in Mass for $1100. Use Searchtempest.com to check out pretty much every CL in NE.
Thanks,
Doug | |
