Spare housing from a Roadmaster Sedan. The posi chuck is blown up and will need to be replaced, but this is a good core for someone who wants to build a rear. I do have the axles as well (30 spline). 8.5 ring gear housing, with speed sensor on pinion.

100 come get it.

Are the roadie sedans the narrower rear?

Yea steve...I believe it is. It is the same width as my oem boxy 9c1 rear. I could tape it for an exact number if you need?

Not to side track, but I've got a question...

When you say narrow, I think narrow like my '96 9C1.

I was not aware that the roadie was narrow too.

I'd like for you to post the width for comparison reasons.

I didn't think box 9C1 cars got a narrow (snow chain) rear end.

Maybe it's the fender skirt (91/92) that started it.

Bangshiftbrian's Buford T Justice 9C1 seems to be dead on matched to the front in the matter of width.

But, that could just be picture mirage type stuff.

...not stated as a question, but this isn't jeopardy

OK found it.
Actually, I need to put together a bullet proof rear for my DD impala.
We may need to talk once the weather changes & things calm down.

Anyway....

Quoting Bill Harper....cuz....you dont get better info then that.

"Chevy
91-92 sedan
1566mm - narrow (all)

93-96 sedan
1566mm - narrow (9C1 - disc & drum & some other drum applications)
1598mm - wide (Impala SS - disc & B4U - drum)

Buick 91-96 & Fleetwood 93-96 sedans
1566mm - narrow (all)
NOTE: Fleetwood housing is unique to the application - 4-channel ABS provisions

91-96 wagon, all
1642.5mm

All 93-96 7.625" (ring gear) housings are 1598mm wide (Chevy sedan only)

Sedan housings, in both widths, have the same lower control arm bracket location/spread distance, and will fit any other sedan frame. Wagons have a wider spread distance (approx. 2") between lower control arm brackets on housing, and corresponding wider frame lower control arm mounts."

^^^Ask Crovo how this swap fits^^... Arrow

Great info Steve. Exactly what I was asking!

Cut and pasted for good measure.

Thanks!

If anyone else cares, all of the 93-96 Chevy sedan rears are wide except for the 9c1 cars. So the civies without the B4U package are wide too. Smile

Oh, and by the way, Turd Ferguson, s'a funny name...
