Do all of these cars have the same rear end housing?

Do all of the B body cars have the same rear end? I know the gears may be different but the housings are the same? Trying to figure out exactly what to look for when buying gears. Any info would be helpful. Thanks guys.........

Nope. Every model is slightly different.

The wagons have different suspension mounts from the sedan to accomodate the different fuel tank.
The 9c1's have shorter axle shafts to allow the use of snow chains without hitting the inner fenders.
The L99 cars have a 7.5" rear instead of the standard 8.5".
The SS and 9c1's have disk brakes as oppossed to the standard drums.

If any of that is confusing then just remember that the ss and 9c1 rears are good and the rest suck

I guess what I'm looking for is info on what 3:73 gears will work in my rear end.

There are only two versions of the rear end housing itself. (The Pumpkin)

The 7.5 inch version
The 8.5 inch version

ALL LT1 and 5.7 cars came with the 8.5

If your car is an LT1, the rear is an 8.5 inch, 30 spline, 10 bolt.

They've got the gears.

All 9C1s came with the 8.5 regardless of engine. And 3.23s standard and possibly posi if it was a L99 car.

NYPD Had mostly L99 cars.
