stumbled upon my next project. Empty
PostSubject: stumbled upon my next project.   stumbled upon my next project. EmptyMon Dec 19, 2011 7:41 pm

so over this past weekend i was in CT at my aunts house, visiting with
my parents who where up from S. Carolina.
as a kid my brothers and i spent alot of time after school at my aunts house.
my uncle always had chickens up behind there garage on the the hill.
he had alot of coupes he had made for the chickens.
we always went up to feed the chickens with him.
but for some reason i dont ever remember seeing this up there.
guessing id have to say its been 25+ years since i was last up there.
as far as i know my uncle had not been keeping chickens for atleast the last 10 years.
so somewhere between 25-15 years ago this arrived in there woods to be used as a coupe.
i took the kids for a walk to show them where we used to play.
i probably looked like a deer in headlights when i came upon this. Shocked
after talking with my aunt she told me if i can get it out of the woods i can have it.
i know there is a ton of work needed on it, but i dont care.
my vision of the completed project is to good to pass up.
the plan is to go back with my brother and get a plan of attack.
and attempt to get the truck out of the woods sometime before spring.

i will finish all my current mods on the caprice, drive the heck out of it next summer, then come next fall part out the shell and send what ever is left of the shell to the scrap yard.
i will keep the frame and drivetrain to use in the updating of the truck.

rough plans for the truck is the caprice drivetrain, air ride(of course), prob a small chop, and get it drivable as soon as possible.

on to the pics..
i have about 20 total if anyone wants to see more.
Very Happy

I love it, Anthony. My buddy had a 48 chevy panel delivery truck and the thing was awesome. This is even better. We should put some giant HOOD decals on it when your done and you can deliver milk out of it like the old days. Arrow Seriously though, you can put a sweet interior in that bad boy.

If that's a 1/2 ton the wheelbase is 116".
The Caprice is 115.9" so it will never work. Smile

I say chop it a lot!

Post a photo on kilbillet.com and watch the reactions.

Now we're talkin!!!!!! I miss my old skool rods.... Someday I'll find one worth molesting only a matter of time!
Using the b body frame is an AWESOME idea Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink Wink

Chop it 4", Channel it so it lays rocker. French the lights in and then section the hood.

Do not paint it no matter what you do! And it'll be the best damn caprice based vehicle yet! A turbo would be cool in there too... Laughing

Probably the coolest thing I've seen on here yet! Sweet find! I'd definitely ditch the Caprice for this!
