| I think it will clean up pretty good, the hood is pretty bad because the paint was all scratched off because he had lumber and all kinds of other things on it because people were asking about it every time he had the garage door open so he piled stuff on it and in front of it. it isn't all original the 400 came out of the same car that had the rear springs on it. my uncle worked at parts stores for years and years and every time he found a gm part on the shelves for it he bought it. he said he has more but so far he gave me a box of small stuff like brake parts, gas caps, seat belts, wiper arms, door handles, window cranks, and all kinds of suspension parts. he also got brand new inner fenders but the ones on there are nice.

| Great score! If it was me I would clean it, throw a set of skins on it, and run it hard as-is just like the General originally planned for it. | |

| Way cool! That's awesome. I, too, would go through it and drive it as is. (With maybe a slight altitude adjustment). Good luck with it and keep us posted!

| I think this car is awesome because it's how one would have looked 30 years ago tooling around the area on Friday night with a bunch of dudes in it, instead of the ubiquitous SS with stripes or Barrett Jackson trailer queen. This is authenticity in my eyes. Although I would drive a '72 SS in a second...lol | |

| My mom bought a car like this brand new in 1972, it was blue with a white roof and had the same hubcaps. lol
I remember my grandmother had bought it from her or something and her driving it when I was an infant.

I remember my grandmother had bought it from her or something and her driving it when I was an infant. WOW my father bought a used 72 chevelle 4-door back around 1985-1986 it was blue with a white top. UPDATE: I fired it up for the 1st time in years on sunday, I had power going into and out of the coil but it was getting no spark, after a little searching i found a yellow wire that went from the coil to the starter had been partially burned on the exhaust, ran a jumper to the coil and she fired right up!!! that wire must have been one to make the points work when cranking? It idles good but the carb is junk, In the near future I am going to pull the starter and replace the wires going to it, find a carb and intake for it, replace the tires and take her for a ride.

| If its the original carb and intake, keep them. The car will be worth more with the original parts. | |

It's not the original engine.
