It sounds like a lot of money, but he did not take pictures of the "rust spots" that are starting so that price depends on many other concerns. These cars do have trouble areas. They rust out in the wheel wells and the floors, the chassis support ribs for the body mounts behind the rear wheels and the chassis under the hvac box as well as several other special problem issues. If all the drive train components are excellent, if the floors and door shells are perfect, if the chassis is rust free, if the suspension and body bushings are excellent and there is only slight surface rusting in a few small spots as stated, then this is actually a good price "by default" because nearly all examples of these cars are plagued by many or all of the above dilemmas.

Not to mention what few of them are left as well.

| One younger guy that works with my dad drives what I believe to be a 9C1 in the winter. I wish he didn't though, dying breed. | |

In some respects, it may be considered a dignified end of life service that the car you refer to is providing. He is learning to drive rear wheel drive in the snow, and if it IS a 9C1, then he gets to experience real authentic big-car performance. Anyway, he is way safer in that B-body than putzing around in some cheap dilapidated hand-me-down Jap-tin-can, awaiting his turn to be flattened and killed by a dizzy, half-drunk soccer-mom in her "huge-by-large" SUV as she blabs on her cell phone while airing out her freshly painted fingernails.

Two guys were wacked crossing the street lastnight near my house by a lady in a van. Sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

Sorry, younger as in older than me but but not over 30. It looks extremely clean and he has studded snows you hear a mile away so I have a feeling hes already learned. It seems like it was recently painted/very well maintained thats why I wish he could have a winter beater, but seeing as the caprice is nice he probably couldn't swing the second vehicle. ALSO, those moms almost hit me everyday when I try to back into my space at school. The student drop off is also the parking lot where students park...GREAT idea. sleepy moms in suburbans and sleepy kids in hondas going 40. People wonder why I didn't feel comfortable driving the caprice there. I see one rear-ending a week
