| Hey guys, Lookin' for a set of old school steel wheels with the nubs for the 10.5" moon cap. Usually came on hubcap cars. Anyone got a set kickin' around? They look like this: And with the caps: Help! | |

| I may. Not sure what wheels I'm running since I never got around to pulling the caps yet. I'll let you know in a couple days if something doesn't come up sooner. | |

Thanks Brad. I could swap you a set of lace wheels... - MASShole9C1 wrote:

That's what I'm hoping for. I want plain caps though. I can get them on the bay again. Maybe I'll hit the boneyard tomorrow...

| If mine work for you then I'll swap them for some of them Roady ones since it is a Buick. Or the Fleetwood chromies. Or the Cappy lace ones if they don't say Chevy on them Of course mine are currently wearing whitewalls so you may not be interested | |

Of course mine are currently wearing whitewalls so you may not be interested That would be a sweet trade off for both sides

| I would be very interested in whitewalls. But I really just need the rims. I have no roadie wheels. No fleetwood chromies. And one set of dismounted caprice lace wheels. I think I have some caps with bowties and some without. | |

| Good news and bad news. Good news: Bad news: I need to swap another set on as these come off since they're my only wheels. The problem is I don't know what'll fit thanks to the brake clearence in the rear | |

What does Crovo need? Christ, I'm all confused Center of 1 stud to the outside edge of the one across from it. It took me years to figure that out without resorting to a manual. Supposedly you can also go from center to the midpoint between the 2 across but that always makes my measurement come up short so I don't bother with that method.

| I know what n97's are. You said you had a bunch of steel wheels. but it was unclear if the ones you were checking were n97's, it sounded like they were plain steelies, so I was offering to trade my nubless ones for your nubbed ones. Apparently, I misunderstood. | |

| Easy way to remember Smooth wheels with 4 slots around the border are the "steelies". They are meant for full hubcaps. Usually these come as a spare on upscale cars. Wheels with a bunch of round holes around them are the n97's. They are meant for the little center and trim rings. Wheels with a handfull of oblong holes are the truck wheels. They are handled just like n97's but come in a desirable 15x8 version. Steelies with 4 little nubs on the inner ring are the "old School" wheels. They can run either a small old school hub cap or a fullsize hub cap. Brians red car had the small caps and so do the pics Crovo posted in this thread. My car is running those wheels but with fullsize hubcaps if you can track down the pic I posted. Crovo wants a set of the "old School" wheels and is willing to trade some Caprice "lace" wheels for them. My wheels would work for Crovo but I don't know if the "lace" wheels would fit on my car. Also I would need to have tires mounted on them so that I can swap them on as mine come off. Everyone is now caught up. Please continue | |

My last set were a 10.5" ID, but I'd measure for sure before I ordered another set... It looks like I may be all set with these wheels. And I think we have a new inductee to the inner circle. Thanks guys!
