Upper control arm to differential Empty
PostSubject: Upper control arm to differential   Upper control arm to differential EmptyThu Oct 14, 2010 12:16 pm

Anyone have experience with the pressed in bushing?
I'm replacing the rear uppers & lowers.
I have the new bushings but dread trying to remove the original.
I've heard some leave the original in
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Take them somewhere that has a large press. I have done some, and broke my small press doing it. Its not hard, just need the right tools.

These are the ones pressed into the axle.
No WAY I'm carting that around
I'll burn them out before it leaves here Twisted Evil
What I was wondering is if anyones kept the old without any problems.
Doesnt seem like theres much deflection in the stock rubber, but under load I'm sure it moves.

Ah well I can see what you mean.

I put my new arms on the old bushings. Still nice and tight!

I've heard of people using a small blade sawz-all and running it through the bolt hole and just cutting a couple lines so that the bushing can basically just snap in half and be pulled out in 2 parts.

That was a long sentence Rolling Eyes

Ya, mostly they just torch out the rubber center & punch the pressed in sleeve into the recess til it comes out.
I just didnt want to go thru that if it wasnt completely necessary.
Glen did what I was thinking & his is fine so I'm leaving the stock bushings in
Thanks
