Well i made the trip to Pooges yesterday. 3 hours 150 miles.Portland ME to Walpole NH. Might as well say Vermont. I think we should start a program like the Boy Scouts. You get Merit badges for completing tasks. The trip to Pooges would be a mini GPS To all that have made the trip i'm sure you'll be able to relate. To those who haven't you have to experience it yourself. Not a bad day weatherwise a little sporadic rain/snow. Once you get off the highways the roads are a little rough. Definitely what you'd call rural. I picked up a GPS .Wished i'd have done it years ago. It worked perfectly.I made one wrong turn/my fault not the GPS. I took a few pictures i'll post them in a minute.

This is the road i took the wrong turn on. Got to the top of the hill and there was no more road just a house. The old man that came out didn't look too suprised. I'm guessing i'm not the first to make that mistake

This is the Pooge Estate. You car guys would love the dwelling setup/more garage than house You gotta see the bridge in person. Real nice workmanship. The steel beams underneath look like they'd survive a nuclear blast. I should have taken some pics of the mini caprice graveyard on the left.

I meant to gas up in Concord. But figured i'd wait. Well the next station I stopped at on route 9 i think. Had no power/no pumps. Then i ran into a roadblock for a downed tree/powerline. I tried to call Doug No Phone Service By the time i got to Dougs i was running low. Thank God there was a station right up the street. This is it !!!!! Not like your generic Erving/Cumberland Farms. I could picture a couple of old guys sitting on the porch in better weather. Got coffee, The sugar was in the original big container with a spoon stuck in it. LOL and a baloney and cheese sand. hand wrapped in saran wrap.It was good !!!!!! Clerk wanted to know if i wanted to join the coffee club. Wanted to use pump #3.She said no use #4 it's faster. It pumped fast but sounded like it was going to explode. LOL

I forgot to mention the reason i made the trip. Rich you can sleep well knowing at least part of your old car will live on in mine. We pulled the radiator support to be transplanted to my car. It's in great shape compared to my old one. Weird how these cars rust bad in one spot and not others. I also picked up a nice spoiler and console and a set of manifolds . That might or might not get delivered to the actual buyers. Here's a picture of the donors in Pooges operating room.

Hahaha, wow that's a big garage/barn...pretty awesome and came out damn nice. I've only seen one bigger in recent memory and it was some crazy guy in NH (my friend visited to see about a car for sale) that had about 50 classic Minis and other unusual cars like Nissan Skylines stuffed into the building's multiple floors. I didn't realize Doug was that far up north! BTW I have Rich's old Impala grille now...

It is a fun trip Mark. I have made the trek twice. Map quest put me on the wrong side of town on the first trip, but Onstar put me on Doug's bridge.

I really need to see the garage. It was just some flags tied to sticks when I went up there. I'm sure I'll get back up there over the summer for a new rear-end. And this time I'll actually buy it too My gps put me on his street but wasn't sure of the axact address and told me to "turn right here" while to my right was a 100' drop-off into a forest. Turns out my gps didn't know that the town line was coming up and the house numbers would reset.

| Haha, thanks for the compliments Mark. And yes fellas, I do live in the boonies. It's funny because to me it's not THAT rural. You should have seen where I lived before I built this place. It was a lake in the middle of nowhere that was about a 20 minute drive from ANYTHING...LOL
Looks like Al is hooking me up with a brandy new lift for the shop, so I am still willing to host the first mod day if you guys are willing to make the trip!

Pretty much, yeah. We seem to usually start the season off by yanking a motor or tranny out of one of my cars and it just goes from there... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut 95 WB4 -The Toasted Marshmallow- Quick and Fat, sorta like it's owner... 00 Sierra 2500 ECSB -The Big Slut- H2's & 33's, TB crank, CAI, Magnaflow, Cowl'd, etc... 95 9C1 -Project AutoX Slut- MAB!!<--Finally!!
