I got a great deal on ebay for a 3500lb class 1 hitch with everything brand new including the receiver, wire harness, ball mount, and ball. The HHR is rated at 1000lbs towing capacity, which I hope is under rated as I have looked at old info on the boat, trailer and motor, and the total is 1100lbs . It seems to pull it ok enough. Actually feels better pulling it with the HHR than the Caprice. But it kinda looks like the tail waging the dog.

I actually think that thing looks great towing. I don't know why, but it actually looks like it should be dragging the boat around vs the caprice.
Its hard to tell with the black body and black tire, but does it drop bad in the rear or is it acceptable? Looks pretty level to me, but again, kinda hard to tell.

I was surprised to se it dropped it less than a 1/2". I guess the rear springs are stiff enough to haul loads. It dropped the caprice a full 1 1/2"

I am more of a flames and moon disc type of guy, the if you put the discs off the third pic, and put them on the bottom pic, that is my vision.

Come on. It can't be that bad. 90lbs over max tow rating? It seemed to tow it effortlessly.

Exactly...just start gently & dont try to break the trailer towing speed record.
Once its rolling theres no problem.
PS....paint the boat black (or silver)....thank you in advance...

whatever you do...just paint the boat! It deserves to look as nice as the last boat you did.

As much as how I like the vintage patina/colors on that boat, I think that would look quintessentially badass.
