Can someone help me figure out which tire and wheel packages to purchase for my Dad's Impala? I am hoping to steal a deal this Black Friday if ever this shop will have a sale.

In case you have not bought tires (Nov is long ago now): The best tire for an SS I've used, Nitto 555 G2 in 275/50-17, perfect on OEM SS 8.5". Better than any 255/50-17 in braking, handling, highway speeds gas mileage and ride. Taller tire does give a little away on launch. Very little.

Thanks, Scott, I actually ended up buying the said tire model last year. Many of my friends have it on their car, so I decided to avail of a set, and it is definitely worth it.

If you have an OEM 94-96 SS: The best sway bar modification is to replace the rear 1 3/16" solid rear bar with a 1 3/8" hollow aftermarket bar or a 1 1/4" solid one. Same effect from either, far less understeer, no real added harshness to the ride. Neutral handling. For a softer ride, and neutral handling, keep the OEM rear bar and replace the front bar with a 1 3/16" solid (FE1) bar. More body roll and better handling? Yes. For optimal control (at the expense of that soft ride), 1 3/8" solid F+R bars. My 94 SS has 1 1/2" solid F+R bars (long discontinued from Quickor Suspensions) which require frame braces F+R to keep from bending the frame; severe ride, amazing handling.
