| Hey Guys! I finally found one of my "Holy Grail" cars! I've been looking for about 3 years and am now proud to say I am the new owner of a (well used) 2005 Garnet Red Pearl Legacy GT 5M WAGON!!!! Woot! They only made this car ONE year with the manual tranny. It's a detuned STI 2.5 DOHC motor in it and it SCREWS. STOCK! The car has 105K and I will be addressing a few small issues, and cleaning it up and then driving the Hell out of it. I'll be doing the timing belt and fixing the exhaust leaks and a few odds and ends... I've always loved the scoobies, and have been drooling over these wagons since they came out. With fuel costs being what they are, I decided I didn't really need my truck anymore, so I sold it to a buddy when I came across this GT. I hope to have some real fun with my new daily! Anyway, here's a few pics to keep the angry masses with torches and pitchforks away for the time being.... I can't wait! I pick it up Saturday morning! Mods to begin Sunday! LOL! Nah, I'm leaving it stock and am gonna keep it forever... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | You will not be disappointed!
For anyone that doubts these cars...don't say a word til you have driven one on dry pavement and felt it's wrath, or have driven one on winter roads during hell-storms that scare even the most hardened pickup owner.
Turbo AWD Subarus (2002 and newer in the US anyway) are God's gift to man.
On a similar subject, my WRX finds a new home tonight, it will be a rough day for me!
Doug

| Sweet score! I read that if you swap over stock sit turbo, inrrcooler etc, that these cars make MORE power than a stock sit for some reason | |

| If anyone here has never ridden in an STi, you're missing out. I've had the pleasure of just riding in, and not even driving, three different ones, and they were all ridiculous. You can drive like a maniac and feel like it's impossible to crash the car (within reason). I wasn't a fan of the newest ones until I rode in a friend's, the car was a blast.
Bill I LOVE those wagons like the one you got, I saw an awesome black one with I think the same setup a while back and thought it looked cool. I hate the new ones!

So you're saying you'd actually put your kids in one of those? And thanks guys. It's a wicked cool car. Picture it tinted, dropped an inch or two, sitting on charcoal 18's and you'll have an idea of where I'm going with this. And I wonder if the stock STI stuff just bolts up? I'm sure there's a bunch of STI guys who modded and are looking to unload their stock stuff... Hmmm.... I think I'll be keeping the stock turbo for a while though, it's a brand new Scoobie replacement last week. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... And I think it'll grow on me. Yep. 2005 in the ONLY year that the wagon was available with the turbo "baby WRX STI" motor in it with the 5 speed manual. Rated at a conservative 250HP and runs high 13.9's bone stock. They made a bunch of the 5 speed autos though, but it's not the same car with the slushbox. As of this moment, this is one of FOUR I could find for sale in the whole country on all the websites I could think of. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... 2.5 turbo, wagon, and 5 speed was only made one year and in limited numbers. It's like finding a local 96 Caprice Wagon... Who the F made this a Subaru forum anyway! _________________ 1996 Impala SS - 45K original miles - 5.3 LS swap - Brand new Bilsteins...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

| I like Subaru. I drove one of those 6-speed turbo STi wagons a few years back.... like I stole it and the cops were behind me. I took a left turn doing 60 in second gear with my foot to the floor no problem. I also had a 2009 Legacy sedan as a rental car for a month. I can dig them and they sure can take a beating. | |

But seriously, I love the way the wrxs handled at the rally. They really are awesome cars. And i've been in a mom mobile wagon like that fully loaded, nice car to ride in I have to admit. | Lesbifriends?
Bill will your roadside emergency kit include but not be limited to a flannel, a Joe Dirt mullet, size 22 womens 80s jeans with the zippers on the cuffs, and uh...paratrooper boots? LOL
All kidding aside I disagree, this car doesn't strike me that way...there are some Subarus designed to be driven to Provincetown for the weekend with a Labradoodle standing up sideways in the back of the car pinching a loaf on a Husky Liner, but the rest are a complete about face either for badass white knuckle experiences, or a 350 dollar beater from CL with rotted strut towers to be s00bar00ed in the woods...bottoming out on boulders

Before I bought my wagon I was going to finance a newer vehicle.. I was looking for a Denali, or a Forester Xt. If I ever end up financing something, it'd be a Forester Xt
