| Hey Guys, So the ECIRS has asked us to host them again, so I went and set the date. We will be having our annual spring Drag Day on Saturday, May 21st. Gates open at 8, racing starts at 9. We usually meet at the Burger King at 125/101 in Epping and roll out of there about 745. So you are all invited to that, too, if you're interested. Make sure your car will pass tech. They are pains in the ass there. Maybe it will be better now that they are NHRA? Who knows. So get your cars ready!!!!!!!! _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Well Dan, I had a bad experience. I did my roller rocker/valve spring swap the night before the drag day. On the LAST SPRING standing next to my car the damn compressor let go and my valve spring and retainer went flying. This was 2 AM in my driveway. I found the spring pretty quick but I didn't find the retainer till the next day. I looked all over the yard for it. It was sitting on the damn pitman arm!!!! | |

| They go through the car and make sure it's safe. No leaking fluids, battery is strapped down, helmet if you go quicker than 13.99,check your nuetral safety switch, and reverse lockout. I've never had a problem with them. They are pretty quick and I would rather get booted than have something break and crash. | |

| Long pants. All lugnuts, no broken studs. Driveshaft loop if on slicks. I have had so many racers FAIL at NED that it is really ridiculous. They are the toughest tech I have ever been through. They even failed my TRUCK! And it passed inspection legit and had nothing wrong with it.
Most tracks don't even pop the hood or have you get out of the car.
Just be sure all your bases are covered. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | A leak. After searching, it was the vent hose for the front diff. Instead of pointing up, it was pointing down and dripping... Boo.
I'm just trying to let the guys know that NED is tough at tech. It never fails, EVERY time, yes EVERY time, we race up there, someone in the club gets turned away for something from tech. At most tracks tech is a breeze, but not so here. So just be sure your car is up to snuff and you have long pants. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | A couple more tech-in items at NED (if they have'nt already been mentioned):
Battery secured. Has to be hard mounted (i.e. no bungie cords) Lugnuts cant be covered, hub/centercaps have to come off Working seat belt Working neutral saftey switch, sometimes they will ask you to try to start it in R or D Radiator overflow catch-can

| I passed tech with a bungie. They grabbed it, wobbled it around and they were like, its good.

Wow, you we lucky. I got the boot for that once. It all depends on which guy (or girl) techs it. I ran a bunch of weeks with the T/A @ the 12.5-12.7 range with no driveshaft loop (they never even checked) I just don't want to see someone make the trip, and then not get to run over somethin stupid.

| I think u only need a loop with slicks. I don't have to worry about slicks or loops or helmets my car is too slow. | |

Loop used to be 13.0's or faster, or slicks. Dunno what going to happen if it's goin NHRA. Rule of thumb is NHRA is half a second difference form IHRA. (i.e. a loop would be needed at 13.5 with NHRA, a 6-pt cage would be needed @ 12.0 instead of the current 11.5). Maybe someone can verfiy this?
