| OK, so I have the baby moons on it. Not sure I like it yet. Will definately look a million times better with the front dropped about 3 inches. I really want to like 'em. I really do. But... something's not right. I think it's the ride height. I NEED to drop it. Gonna cut the fronts at least one coil and throw the eibachs in the rear. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | I think if you widened the white wall it would look a little better, I mean everyone does that but I think it looks good still. But I think the front about 2-3 inches would deffinitly set it off wide whites or not | |

Yeah, a nice set of wide whites, raise the ass a bit and get the front down, maybe 1/2 a coil and it'll look even better.

| I agree on the wide whites. But if not, at least paint the wheel weights.
The moons look good on there! I like it without the trim ring.

The moons look good on there! I like it without the trim ring. Yeah, I'm gonna paint the weights. Haven't had time yet. And it's been raining anyways. Not sure I want the wide whites yet... And the trunk is loaded with the old rims and tools and shit now, so it's sitting low back there. But I like it! I may throw a couple cinderblocks in the back to keep it low! lol _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... I have them. Might try them. Don't think they'll help. But they were the original plan. Once I painted the wheels though, I thought it may look better without them... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | I would loose everything in the rear, and cut that coil out of the front, or just get a set of stock SS springs all around. I am not sure if the babys and painted rims go with the car. Once dropped, you will know. |

Yeah, you're not the first person to suggest that. But then I think it'll look too "old traditional Cadillac" for me. I'm looking for for "cool, ratty, Caddy." And yes, I now realize that I may have started with the wrong car for that... - sdstick wrote:
Of course its the ride height, look at it all rear heavy & snooty with the nose up At least in those 1st 2 pics. 3rd pic angle hides it a little Once you drop it it'll frame those wheels differently resulting in Yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. I'm gonna try trim rings today. Will probably help... On a brighter note, me and Al worked on the suspension last night... We swapped out the stock rears for the Eibach's I got from Mikey. They went in pretty easy. One of the shock bolts fought us, but it didn't break. And the springs were rusted to the lower perches! LOL! I had to hang my full weight on each tire to get the old long springs out, too! LOL! Anyways, here's a comparo of the Eibach's and stock FW springs... Those springs "dropped it on its nuts" as Al said. And it looked awesome! But since we ran into trouble with the fronts, I had to pull a Timmy and max out the rear air shocks to bring it back up to where it was sitting before. Let's just say a whole lot of those moons disappeared when it was on the ground! The front fought us. Couldn't even get the cotter pins out of the balljoints. And the LCA bolts looked too rusty to attempt. So we gave up with just replacing the sway bar endlinks that broke when we tried to take them off. I went out today and bought lower ball joints, shocks, and an idler arm. Hopefully we can try it again soon. But at least we know what we're in for now. _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... That's cuz I washed it again today. I can't believe that friggin car is getting washed way more than the Marshmallow and the Slut! Not sure when we can finish it up. I need to paint the bumper filler and maybe the leading edge of the hood... _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams... | Another quick update... I tried to take advantage of the warmer weather today and get some paint work done. I decided to try the front bumper filler that had the major clearcoat issues. I was pressed for time, so it was a super rush job... I started by taping off as little as I thought I could get away with and sanded it down with 320. Then I wiped it down with a rag soaked with brake clean (It was all I had here!) and sprayed the Plasticoat Medium Garnet Red Metallic from a rattlecan. It seems to be a shade lighter and redder than the original. And I seemed to have a little "metalflake pooling" issue in a couple spots. Oh well. The Duplicolor appeared to be a better match. Live and learn. Took 3 color coats to cover it "enough for me" (because I had sanded through the paint in some spots to make it sooth and had dark areas show through) and then I laid down three coats of 10 year old rattlecan clear, too. Hey, at least it was Dupicolor too!!!! I took a few minutes to take off the grill and try to JB weld it to make it look decent til I get a good one. It looks better, but you can see the repair if you look for it. Took a couple screws and a piece of plastic to make it strong enough. Then I threw it back on the hood and slammed it down (gently) and took a look at my work... Not bad for an hour's work for a hack! Like I said before, the color isn't a perfect match, but it looks better than it did. I was also looking at it under fluorescent lights, so maybe it'll look better in daylight. But for a beater, it'll look fine either way. And yes, I will be getting rid of the bumperettes ASAP! _________________ Bill "The Verb" Crovo - Resident Car Slut & Unicorn Hunter A Toasted Marshmallow, A Long German, A Lame Suburban and expensive dreams...
