| Matt, those caps look great on there. What are the dimensions on the rally wheels? I'm calling dibs if you end up wanting to sell em with the tires. | |

| I'm going to show my Matt those. He wanted black powder stockers w/ white letter sneakers (hey-not my call) I'm pretty sure he'll change his mind. Those look FANTASTIC. Without going back, it reminds me of Billy M's Blue B with the diagonal stripe. I might be wrong about his old setup but I know every time I see it I LOVE it. | |

| Matt's wheels are Wheel Vintiques Chrome Chevy Rallyes 15x8 with 4" BS all around. 295/50's out back with 255/60's up front. But they don't fit according to the interwebs. | |

| Yeah, I'll definitely be putting skinnier tires with a taller sidewall on the rears, probably some 255s. Does anyone know what the widest tire that will fit all the way around is? The 255s are in nice shape so I'll probably just buy two more, while you can still buy Indy 500s. haha Thanks for the compliments gentlemen! | |

| I really need to go and drive/look at my Impala tomorrow and see how it looks with the 15x8s on it...I swapped the wheels in the dark, then it rained the next day, and today too. After I put the wheels on it, they looked okay, but almost seemed to stick out a little too far. The car reminded me of a tarantula. But I love how the 15x7s look on the Caprice...the wheels sit like the SS ones did and I like that. I was going to Plastidip the chrome wheels black, then put the chrome smooth caps back on left in chrome, but I think I'll leave them alone. This did remind me I need to do the shocks right away, almost went off the road getting on 95 in NH today, these wheels and tires grip better so you get a false sense of security, then the car suddenly wants to tip over. | |

| FINALLY Some different rims! Looks great Matt! SS rims are ok, but you get sick of seeing: SS,SS,n97,lace,hubcaps,ss,ss,TT's,n97,ss,ss, etc....... Leave them chrome! Looks killer with the letter tires. | |

| Thanks Indy- I wanted to put these on because I loved the painted rally wheels on Mark Ross's purple pearl car, these sort of remind me of them.
I'm going to run down and get the Impala out now to see how it looks...

Those chrome wheels and white paint are perfect. Haha, thanks mang. I think I've decided I'm going to leave this car stock height and the grille black. I like the ride height as it applies to these wheels and tires and for some reason I mainly like the SS grille it's like silver/grey (MAB?) or darker. If I painted it white I'd probably put some kind of bright insert in the middle sections...or paint the mesh also white, but for some reason that bothers me too. (Sorry Crovo, ) If the car were lowered, it probably would not have made it out where I was there. One more I forgot. "Sometimes...there just aren't...enough...rocks..." -Forrest Gump I should probably make a "build thread" for this car to encourage me to get off my ass with it...but I feel like I've said that before, or even made a thread then forgot about it...

| I think the black looks good against the white car, especially with the black pillars. At least it looks better than a DGGM grille against MAB . The dual bowties have to go, though. I say LTZ badge on the hood. | |

I agree in that shot. Wonder how it would look with the grill white & the center left black? Same overall look as in the pic but more subtle

| I would not put chrome or silver on that grill painted white. I was saying what Steve said. Paint the grill white, and leave the mesh black.
OR put a chrome caprice grill back on it. Maybe with the honevycomb part painted black. So just the rim around it is chrome.

| Hello all, originally from RI, I am on my fourth Roadie since 2009. I love these cars as much as my four Golden Retrievers. I must confess I am also a member of the "other' forums. I try to get up to RI once a year and still have family there. Thought in the future if I find a much needed part my family could retrieve it for me verses shipping. Trying to figure out the picture thing, I guess my pics are two big. 134kb's Anyway Thanks for having me. | |

But then no one could see my nice clean blue interior! But sometimes I think the reason people try to tailgate me for no reason is because they can clearly see me inside the car. Don't you think that people are subconsciously afraid to tailgate someone when they can't see what's inside? - 1984twodoor wrote:

It looks like you were to cheap to finish of some one backed into you Believe me it needs a few things now, hopefully get that fixed in the next few weeks though...that's what I thought about doing to the grille... - mp775 wrote:

The dual bowties have to go, though. I say LTZ badge on the hood. LOL...the colors are sort of close though... If the LTZ badges were like 10 bucks, I would, but they're way overpriced for being a little black square. That, and I think I have to have the gunsight on the hood or I would feel like something is missing not seeing it as I drive... It's funny I see a car all the time at the bank that is not an LTZ but has that emblem on the hood. Also, there's a guy driving around with a DCM SS, a '96, that has a hood ornament ADDED to it along with the chrome wheel moldings... - sdstick wrote:

I agree in that shot. Wonder how it would look with the grill white & the center left black? Same overall look as in the pic but more subtle That's what I was going for, I thought the 2 black areas would complement each other... - toomanytoyz wrote:

OR put a chrome caprice grill back on it. Maybe with the honevycomb part painted black. So just the rim around it is chrome. I actually have 2 other grilles, the original that I did white with the black center, and a messed up one I got from Brian that had broken mounts, but better chrome. I fixed the screw holes with plastic filler (have to drill them) and will be painting the center of that one black. The reason I am wary of painting it white is because: -The plastic is black, and if I paint it white, I fear it will probably get stone chips in it, making them show up even worse. -I don't like the prominent cross bar when the grilles are painted any color lighter than like, LDM or something around there, a pewter-ish color. It reminds me of the grilles that a lot of Chevy products had recently with the huge bar going across the center. I'd prefer something like the grilles on the '69 Chevelles, etc, with a thinner line going across...I think if the grille were white with a billet insert or the mesh areas painted a graphite metallic color it would soften the look? -Crown Vics came with a black grille, no one complains about those! -I like it! LOL We'll see. Right now I need to get off my ass and fix the missing exhaust, get the suspension parts in there before it's cold out, etc...I think I need a trans. mount too!

| Yeah man, when you get the chance take a few hours and buff that thing out, it's one of the best feelings ever when you see it all done! I just finished the black Tahoe the other day, well almost finished, and I have to say I can't believe how much better it looks. I mainly want to get it so stuff won't be sticking to the paint this winter! | |

Even a hand compound would do the trick! I do Maguires Ultimate compound followed by their cleaner wax, it had the cougar looking like a mirror! Then I proceeded to ignore it for a long long time I did however use that compound and a drill adapter to buff the caprice's hood and DAYUM! It is so worth it! Do it! You know you wanna!

..... one stage , swirl free, easy use, anybody can make a black beast look sexy compound..... I use this on 90% of my details now. Works fast and easy, next to nothing for mess or dust after. You can use it by hand but low speed on the buffer and you can do the whole car in 30 mins or less. No need to polish after. you can wax to seal in the polys but not needed if you just want to shine it up fast. You use very little compound too, Ive had this bottle for 2 months and have done 9 cars so far with it. Got a power converter? We can do a little detailing in dover
