| I am planning a spring tour of the eastern states in the Impala and considering how it is getting up in miles, I was really wondering whether it was worth taking it. I got to thinking about another community I used to be part of, and someone had setup a very basic listing of people in various locations of the country who could be contacted in the event of a breakdown.
Basically it would be a list of contacts throughout the country of people that could be called should you break down in their neck of the woods. The contact would not have to drop everything and help, but could at least be relied on to connect you with a reliable garage or parts store, or perhaps they might have a part that might help.
Is this something people might be interested in? If so I would be happy to setup a small website and get something going, but I would need some input on a good way to do that, and a cheap or free place to host it.
Thoughts? Is it even worth my time since a lot of people have roadside assistance type things?

| I think they tried to set something like that up before on the ISSF... I think maybe there woul be a better place, as it will be nationwide. Great idea though! I'd be happy to be part of it. | |

Great idea though! I'd be happy to be part of it. I was planning on doing it on ISSF, but I wanted to get a bit of feedback first here, being a bit closely knit. Thanks for the feedback! I will have to scope out if there is one out there already. Doug

| Even if there was one out there, it's gone. The great forum crash of 09 caused us to lose everything we've been building over there for the past decade. | |

True, true. I will start getting my ducks in a row on this. I am super busy right now working, trying to build the garage (renting a dozer this weekend to prep before digging footings!), and parting these things out, so it may be a while before I get it cranking, but I think it would be a cool resource. Would anyone else be interested in that kind of thing? Doug
