| . It all started when I was coming home from work yesterday somebody cuts out of the gas station to go south while I have no time to react I'm going north towards home I slam into her going 35-40mph jolting forward then back quick rushed to the hospital where they have x rays done on my chest which turn out negative. I'm very sore today saw the car last night wanted to cry front ends crushed in two flat tires I beluve know of one 100% flat had trouble shifting out of park and front door was unopenable had to have a paramedic crank it open really hard. Also there were fluids leaking from it pretty sure its totalled. So frustrating someone can't look moves out into traffic, and bruises my chest slightly hurts my hack but very importantly ruins a beautiful 25 year old classic Oldsmobile. Time to look for another wish me luck! | |

| Dude, that totally sucks! I never got a chance to see this thing. What a sin.
I wish you the best in this whole cluster-F, for the lack of better terminology...hopefully you're okay.
Some dumb bish did the same thing to me when I was in my old '74 (green one) years back- She was in a Corolla and was clearly able to see me, I saw her sitting there for a good 5 seconds. Right when I get up on the driveway to the supermarket lot she was going to exit, she pulls right out in front of me (when I was in the center of the 2 southbound lanes) when I was going 30. Tried to avoid her, she just looks right at me and keeps coming with a car load of people. Totaled her car, she tried to blame me which obviously got her nowhere. I hate people. A '74-75 Impala is the LAST car you want to pull out in front of. Bar none.
I would take pictures of the car, the area where the crash occurred, and pics of the other person's car if you can get them easily for whatever reason. If you were on the thoroughfare they should have no argument against you and you should be paid for the loss of your wagon.
Maybe they'll let you keep the car if it's totaled for cheap and you can take some parts from it.

After my old GMC Suburban was stolen and recovered, I kept the hood ornament, and haven't been able to find it!

| Wooooow! So sorry to hear that man. Really. Makes me sad. Not many like that left out there.
I'm glad you're "ok" to the point you can tell the story.
We are Craigslist trolls. When you are ready and able to get back in one, I'm sure we can help out.
There IS a boxy OCC down the street from me that was for sale. Might still be on CL when the time comes.

| Glad you're ok, I really hate people sometimes! Maybe the insurance will let you buy it back, then you can either part it or possibly rebuild (with problems shifting the trans it does sound like the frame got a good whack though). That Olds was great looking, it's a damn shame. I know someone selling a 92 OCC for around $1400 if your looking (not me!). It's dark maple with red interior. Hang in there! | |

Masshole the boxy sounds kool too. Believe the frame is bent in the front over 6000 worth of damage love the car but definitely looking forward to a new wagon and feeling better. My god custom cruisers are so hard to find glad I got you guys to help.

I'm not sure on the mileage (120k area sounds familiar though), it's in Bridgeport. I looked at it a while back and it was decent overall. Not really any rust to speak of, needed shocks. I can get more info on it if you're interested.

| ^I was going to mention that, the 'fishing trip' wagon. Look closely at the steering wheel in that. Someone fanatically maintained that car.
These clean wagons are definitely making me want one.

| I've been in the same spot, these cars are pretty good at keeping you alive.
I'm sorry to hear about the olds, if it is cheap enough to buy it back I would. Save as many parts as you possibly can!
Good luck with the search.
