| Ok ok. I know I was against the idea before, but I'm leaning toward the even more ironic look of the lowered police pkg car with nice wheels etc etc. I got my pops to ship up my push bar from Alabama the end of this week. Since the car is far from the "typical" 9C1 look and I've still got the original bumper and support with the holes in it, I'd like to go for it. I'm not feeling the RMW get up anymore. I'll toss my SS grill with the billet insert in and go from there. This is what I've got btw. I'm sure my mind will change again once I get it. | |

| Yes Al, thanks! That's all mounted up already? It looks good considering they exactiy designed with the caprice in mind.
It's not an "OMG!!! A police car bumper" thing as much as it is the feeling I get when I see the hot rod box caprice on black sheep, or any DARE car I've seen.
IMO, its still a police car, not some slick trailer queen Impala clone thing.
So the irony intrigues me.
If the day comes, I'll scoop up a low buck impala to beat on and maybe work to "restore" the 9C1 back to its original roots for car shows. Since its not a New England rot box, it could be worth it later on in life.

| I think a push bar would look good, I just don't like that style. Looks like a Saturday night stock car push start bar... | |

Mines almost ready to put back on. Modified that one quite a bit to make it fit right (considering it was for a P71). Took an inch and a half more off the bottom, added foglamp brackets to the middle, and a tube to the bottom to tie it together. It's tough for sure!

I dig the one on your car and the one on Al's car. Just the one that came on Brian's super interesting, historied past, 9C1is not as appealing to me. But, I'm just here, peeing on cornflakes.

All I ask is that you don't take a dump in my Market Basket brand Healthy Mornings cereal with the dehyrdated strawberries in it.

| Get bumper guards, all the cool kids are doing it. Too bad you can't find the old NYPD style bars. | |

| You know, crovo, it's interesting that you say the push truck thing. When I eventually buy a 70's GM pickup to mod, that's part of the theme. All shop trucks should have a push mechanism on the front. No need to ding up the shiny chrome.
I always thought the NYPD highway patrol bumpers were ugly. Looks like someone welded a track and field hurtle to the front or something.
I don't get the angle to them.

| Forgive me for forgetting if you made it known before, but is that what ME troopers had on their cars? Did that come with it or did you put it on after? Who makes it? Code 3? | |

| No, maine did not use push bars. This bar is a Lectric lite. I got it off the 9c1.net forums. Only one I've ever seen. | |

| Dammit! I come in here for some push bar chat and end up needing to go eat a bowl of Frosted Flakes...
FTR: I am a fan of the style Al has on his, anything bigger, or two-piece really does nothing for me...but then again I never got into the cop car thing either, so to each his own.
That being said, I would love nothing more than an all black version of the Black Sheep cop car...Sha-Wing!

Once the wife and I purchase a worthwhile home, the base for this statement will be acquired. eBay, here I come! Serious tho, I'd love nothing more than a box body like that. Pretty slick car. I wonder what happened to it after the movie...
