Anyone got a nice gray steering column and wheel?

Tomorrow I'm dropping the Impala (the SS) off to have the turn signal issue looked at. Part of me feels it's a short in the turn signal switch, but I dunno. Either way, if that's the problem, I think the labor costs of having that done might be a lot due to digging into the column, vs. just swapping the whole column out with another one. (If I'm way off base here, feel free to let me know because I'm no expert. The guy I know looking at the car for me will be the end all opinion I guess.)

The column in this car has a worn spot from someone's monster keychain hitting it over the years too, and the wheel has a worn spot at the top anyway.

I don't know if I'll need one yet, but if I do, does anyone have one that has a good turn signal switch in it? All I care about is gray, and column shift. The wheel can be a Caprice one, but I'd prefer a clean Caprice wheel that's not worn out real bad. LMK if you have one around.

Remember, SEM can make it grey.

Way easier to do the switch. Dont even think about changing the column for something so easy. Do it yourself. Save money. Should take an hour. I know it's cold but I did mine last year and it was pretty cold, just warm up the car first.

Thanks Tim. I'd do it myself, but I literally have nowhere to do it (no place to even put down tools) and no time, lol. That's why this car has been sitting most of the time, I just take the Tahoe all over the place now. Good to know the switch is easier. The column needs to come apart to do the canceling springs or whatever they are too. I hope the issue is just a wire somewhere further down the line and not the switch. The sad thing is I'm pretty sure I have all the tools to do it, even the lock plate tool and the puller. I replaced parts in the column on my '88 Suburban. If it's not the switch, I'll do the return springs/canceling cam, whatever it is myself.

The cancel things are part of the turn signal switch. I did it sitting inside the car in winter.
