Plastic Fuel Tank Questions.... Empty
PostSubject: Plastic Fuel Tank Questions....   Plastic Fuel Tank Questions.... EmptyMon Nov 05, 2012 9:22 pm

for all the bubbles out there....

What is the deal with the 4.3 v6/v8 and 5.7 gas tanks in the b-bodys?
What type of setup does the fuel pump sit in? Any of you guys have some photos for me?

I am trying to decide between my options (delivery wise), and I am thinking that a cost effective way out would be a stock plastic tank with the new Aeromotive stealth 340 in place?

Any of you guys install one (or the walbro equivelant?)

Looking for some ideas, thoughts and photos.

How many gallons are the plastic tanks?
Still fill behind the plate right?

Plastic Fuel Tank Questions.... Empty

Fuel pump sender goes straight down (approx top center of the tank)into a baffled area on the inside bottom. It mounts with a round retaining ring / large o-ring & a bunch of nuts.
Filler is still behind the plate. Metal goose neck secured with 2 bolts on the body on either side of the filler cap. Small length of rubber hose between the goose neck & plastic flange in the tank.
22 Gallons from empty to topped off.
Dont know what the Aeromotive stealth 340 is...will google now

EDIT: OK no difference between that & walbro etc
Trick is to get the harness to supply max voltage to the pump
They run it right off the altenator & bypass all the factory power run
I have the harness dangling in my DD now.
Pump is sitting on the shelf in a new sender all ready to go.
Didnt want to do the fuel pump with the new motor in case I had issues.
