-ALF out... My thoughts exactly. Damn nice color combo and the VERY clean frame helps a lot. Low miles to boot.

| Guess the guy in TN shouldn't have cut up that 96 9c1 with 69k original miles on it for the motor and frame.
I don't care how clean or even if it has "rare color combo" , 8k for police car with 82k miles. No way. Somone is on the crack.

| That reminds me of that one that had been sitting in the guys storage container thing in Brookline with like 189 miles or whatever it was since 1996...the only different option it had that I can remember was a factory radio delete. | |

I think it has to do with how many Impala SS got stored away in new condition back in 1996 because people were already expecting them to be future classics? I have seen Black 96s (you know, the rare Color) with 8 (!), 35 (!) and 137 (!) miles offered for sale, plus countless examples in the 1-20k miles range. Ok, maybe not for 8k, but still, they're out there. You don't get that with old Copcars too often... The way I see it, I'll try to buy as many good 9C1 while I still can find some, and by the time I'm done with that, there will still be plenty of mint SS out there. Right now, if I had 8k to spend and the choice between a good SS and this 9C1, my money would be on the copcar. You might never see anything like it on ebay again. Having said that, this car has been on ebay at least twice before.

HA! go figure the guy from maine is on this planet .... the car has been painted.... look at the hood & trunk gaps, both are off, door decals have been moved n are peeling ( plus the over spray ALF mentioned) ..... underneath is pretty and sure it looks nice with a new tank ,straps and exhaust, but I bet he didn't touch any thing in the rear end. Same with the engine bay..... Is it worth 8k ... sure if we are playing big bank takes little bank..... the car is worth 5 maybe 6 @ most..... ..... with all the donks and junk we drive on the road , these cars won't see any real worth till we are long gone

Dunno. Hood and Trunk gaps look standard issue 9C1 to me, and there is no way to move the door decals and stick 'em back like that. Overspray yes, but I guess that's more of a fender bender repair than a full repaint. And underneath, tank, straps and exhaust, that ain't new, that's California. That car was not dressed up. With somewhat more banged-up black-and-whites going on ebay (very recently) for 5k+, decent all whites selling for 6.5k, I'd very much say that a californian all-red, completely civilian-looking 9C1 from the second best of model years and with G80 deserves more than 7. Yes, there's tons of bad, cheap throwaway Caprices around, but I can't see why that should make the good ones less valuable.

| That car has gone to rock bottom at 10 years, and is now on the up swing. 8k might be a little high, but no far fetched, not a bad amount to pay. That car will go up it price. I could see that car at the 20 year mark being worth 15k with the current mileage. If I could afford that car, it would be in my driveway. | |
