I got a little bored today and decided to dissect an old tail light from the 84 and slap that euro lense on it. The result...VERY COOL! Now I am avidly searching for the LH side to accompany it.

I like that Crovo! I can't wait to see what it looks like in the car, but since I don't have battery cables on the caprice anymore I didn't think it was worth it to pop it in. Plus, I only have one side, if anyone has the LH side... Wink

Matt it's just a lens correct?
Can't you just buy another RH and flip it over?

I'm not so sure as there is an area that gets fatter at the top and tapers down and it would not seat properly in the housing. I will look into it more with the lens I took off tomorrow and update. Sadly I'm not too hopeful. Surprised If that does work, I know what my next purchase will be! Arrow

You can always use a dremel on the old lenses for practice to see if you can get it to work. Use black urethane to seal the lens to the bucket.
I will be on a serious hunt for the left side for you either way.

Does the black plastic separate from the red lens Part?
If so can you reuse the stock left side and just pop in another right side export lens?

I might have to pick up a dremel, cougar needs hinge pins, so maybe I will try. I'm on the hunt too! And yeah I need to dig out the old gasket and seal it properly but I'm in no rush. I need to get a better bezel and maybe a cleaner housing for the hell of it.

I imagine it does, I'll look into it.

If anybody happens to come across one or a pair for either a 79 Caprice or Impala, plmk.
I've been looking for these for years.

I can honestly say you should have better luck than I'm having. I've seen them before a lot more than I've seen the ones for 86-90 cars. Though sadly never for sale Rolling Eyes

I'll keep my eye out, I generally search for European caprice parts on flea bay each month or so. I guess I'm just destined to spend all of my money on caprice parts...
