| Dont you already have an electric fan? If so...delete the mechanical. You need replacement waterpump bolts if you want to delete the bracket. Just dump the fan & think about the bracket later | |

| Remove mechanical fan and components, and drive with secondary fan only. I did that before with no ill affects. |

| I read somewhere on here that Crovo can retune the ECU to make the secondary the primary. | |

| Or rip out the mechanical stuff and buy a harness from Gary's innovative wiring. Pickup a primary fan from the yard and install it. Did that on my RMW last summer. | |

I was thinking of that, but slapping a 12" or 16" flexalite in there with a thermoswitch would be like $50. The Innovative Wiring kit by itself is $85...

| any reason? I've had great luck with aftermarket fans and thermoswitches. Simple install and ultra quiet fans. | |

I have yet to see an iron head LT1 overheat or loose a head gasket. I have never even heard of it happening. With that said, with a stock fan, replacement is easy, and plug and play. An aftermarket fan fails, it is not necessarily plug and play easy local replacement. I would prefer the PCM decide when the fan comes on. And Gary's wire harness is better than oem, so a chance if electrical fire is almost non existent. |

| So, I'd need to get the Gary's harness and find the OEM fan stuff? | |

You would need the harness, the primary fan, upper rad shroud off a non towpack car, and shorter bolts for the water pump when the bracket comes off. All these can be gotten off a car in the yard in once shot.

| Or, you could pull the existing shroud, remove the mechanical fan, reinstall the shroud & chaulk it up to 3/4's of a mod that you actually did. How'd the exhaust come out? | |

How'd the exhaust come out? yeah, should probably minimize this pile of parts before I buy more stuff. I have the entire last week of March off to catch up with stuff. Gonna do the exhaust, radio, subwoofer, get an alignment, yank the air pump for the exhaust off and slap the summer wheels back on

| Ya, I have the same problem. A PILE of best intentions & all the things that get in the way to stop installation. Thats why I'm TRYING to adopt the DO SOMETHING method. These guys make me feel silly when I see thier progress & I'm stuck spinning my wheels. Do what you can do asap & enjoy 1 thing at a time | |
