| That's awesome! I don't think I've ever seen that color in a Caddy interior but maybe it's the flash making it look like the 9c1 blue...hmmm. I'd say that's a retired funeral service car. I don't know why they referred to it as Presidential. Recently there was a bulletproof Presidential limo used during the Clinton administration on one of those auctions, either Barrett Jackson or one of the others...it was incredible. A long time ago there was an 87-ish Cadillac six door limo for sale at the top of my street in Malden, my dad wanted to buy it for whatever reason and we took it for a test drive...he drove and I sat all the way in the back, it was a funny feeling being way the hell back and seeing the driver way up front with a bunch of rows of seats going across facing forward like that. I wonder why that spare aluminum wheel is marked "LIMO ONLY"? Justin, any ideas? | |

| Very cool, but why the Caprice style wheels? I never saw that color interior on one of these before. In the end though, you can find Fleetwood limos all day, I would rather find this one: | |

Probably because the wheel is rated for the expected load. Same reason for the 9.5" rear axle & wider front rotors w/o ABS provisions. Can't see enough of the wheel designator to be sure, but it might also have a different bead profile. It looks to be of the earlier (pre-'93 style). One would guess that the limited market didn't justify the cost necessary to alter the limo-specific wheel to match the later version alloys. Current Deville / DTS chassis ordered with the limo prep package come fitted with 8 on 6.5" truck pattern hubs & wheels. - J

| That's not a "Presidential" limo in the sense that it served a president. Its a brand name of a line of hearses and limos by Federal. Those ARE fleetwood alloys. They look like Caprice ones, but they are slightly different. Those were put on the livery and professional cars. Our '96 FW hearse has the same rims. I believe its for the higher weight rating. | |

| Are those center doors fiberglass? Shows some cracking in the pictures...
I remember a long time ago seeing some pics of early-mid 70s Caddy commercial chassis being delivered with bare frames but the nose and dashboards of the car finished to a coachbuilder, is that how these cars came from GM to them before finishing, or did they come as a regular appearing FWB with the commercial chassis option, which was then cut in half and altered?

Depends. I know the ones on our DTS are metal. But some coach companies might have used fiberglass. Also, our '96 hearse side doors are metal. I would assume the limos would be the same. - Matt Trakker wrote:

The body on frame caddys would be delivered like that, so the Fleetwoods would be too for hearse conversions. However, I think for the fleewood limos, they cut a stock "commercial" sedan in half since its not getting a custom body like a hearse would. The unibody cars (Deville, DTS) would be cut at the factory. Normally, they're delivered without interiors.

| I believe thats the gossamer blue, I've seen it in a few white fwb's and it was in that satin black one in the junk yard, Uh-Glee! I don't like blue or red leather interiors, they are just gross looking especially against woodgrain. (IMO). A crimson or burgundy deep deep Red I might let slide by but it's pushing it. I try and stick with neutral grey/tan/white/and of course black. Just more appealing, | |
