| Found this on ebay and placed a bid on it. Much to my surprise I won this thing. I picked it up tonight after spending a whole 2 minutes looking at it in the 20 degree dark and proceeded to sit in my 1A2 and waited for AAA to tow it back for me. I bought it on ebay so I owned it regardless of what it looked like. I had bought this with the intention of it being a winter beater, after a good look over when it got home, I'm not even sure its good for that. Some of you may remeber Lynol's Caprust, well, I think I have a challenger for title of rust bucket. At any rate, its a 96 DGGM WB4 Roadie with tan cloth guts, 150k. Supposedly has a bad fuel pump. I don't hear the pump when I key it on. More pics to come tomorrow, but for now enjoy these. Southerners may want to view these pics with extreme caution, northerners might think this is a great car. That receiver is permanently rusted into the hitch The least of its problems, the spar well Paint? I we don't need paint! Wrong year, good tires though The other side is the same Flapping in the breeze Yeah, those will support a fuel tank! D-pillar rust, only one side What's going on here? Rad support delete mod! Not too bad Tow pack! What do you guys think? I see a possible winter beater with some rigging and then a part out. For fun, here's the original auction, and the CL ad he had listed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150719958102&viewitem=#ht_500wt_1182 http://newlondon.craigslist.org/cto/2696578775.html All in all, I think its worth what I paid in parts, I would not have paid another $1 for this thing as it sits. | |

| Lol I just read the PM! It unbolts 2 body bolts and a few fender ones. I'm going back tomorrow for the bumper and pipes. I'll take it off and put it aside. | |

I am still getting the Caprice, this was an out of nowhere ebay thing Please do set aside that rad support, I would have pulled it myself if I had known I needed it. Can you also grab the hood liner too? The one in my good RMW looks like an animal attacked it

Keep in mind guys, both of my wagons have no rust issues, so this kind of thing is a huge shock to me.

| Man, that is bad, although I've had and seen much worse also! I wonder how the frame/floors and other nooks and crannies are, if they're solid it may be worth ghettoing some patches up and just driving the piss outta it. That radiator support is bad, is that a common thing? My 93's is still pretty nice with some surface rust starting.
My Tahoe has a hitch stuck in the receiver too, I've just been too lazy to finagle it out. My dad tried to get one out of his old Bronco once by tying the hitch to another truck, and the whole platform and receiver crumbled off of the Bronco's frame rails!

| I'll have to look at the floor at some point. The tow driver strapped the car down by the hitch because he didn't trust the rear frame, but it didn't look that bad to me. Sure its rusty, but didn't look rotted. I'm thinking the DS quarter is a candiate for some expanding foam That hitch was a serious pain in the ass when it came to towing. Lifting and dropping off the car was a hassle because that thing kept digging into the ground. I seriously doubt the 2 parts will ever separate, it has a locking pin on it that appears to be one with the hitch at this point. | |

| rivet in a patch for the rad support and ignore any thoughts that it is "un-safe" and just beat the shit out of it and pull the tags on the good wagons this winter until this one is...ya know....two pieces! Then grab the good parts and send the rest to china to make some toy cars and grills and stuff. | |

| If I were to bother with doing a fuel pump, I'd do whatever I had to in order to make the car streetable with as little monetary investment as possible, and drive it as long as possible to get my money/time back out of the fuel pump thing as opposed to one winter. However more issues could arise from driving it longer of course...lol | |

| I think we found our lemons car for next summer! Dave beat it up this winter and then sell it for 300 bucks to another member and we all can go race lol! Seems ok to me | |

| Its alive! Got my fancy new airtex pump in (cars I know I will be keeping get Delco). The TBI sending units are very similar to LT1 ones, the way the pump mounts on is different, buts it a bolt in replacement otherwise. With some help from a co-worker, I got some straps made up for the tank out of scrap. And they are made out of stainless steel as a bonus! Got it all mounted up, fed it a few gallons and she fired right up, idles smooth. Took it out for a trip around the block and everything seems ok, so the drivetrain is at least good. Now with a little rad rigging and some shocks up front this thing should be good for the winter. Terrible video of it starting in the dark | |

| NICE Now you can keep the good wagons nice for the winter! If it lasts keep it around for a beater for as long as you can for what you ended up paying. | |

| Jesus! It looks like that rot came up from underneath through the floor, rather than from moisture in the car. I figured you'd "fix" it since you bothered with the pump. Odd because while rotted it looks kind of dry under the carpet and in the car. Maybe it's just been sitting a long time? How is the load floor?
Makes me feel good about my car for sure, lol. I'd better paint the underneath now!

Makes me feel good about my car for sure, lol. I'd better paint the underneath now! The was definitely moisture under the carpet it was actually frozen to the floor pans. I'm pretty sure leaks played a role in this, there is some bubbling rust by the vista glass and I found water under the rocker covers. I wouldn't have bothered fixing it if I had to spend serious amounts of cash on it, but using scrap metal and buying few rivets and foam doesn't bother me.

| Look at it this way Matt, your fuel economy went up since most of the metal was replaced by foam I almost grabbed a tractor hood for this, but I found a computer lid in my yard that fit perfectly without any cutting. I have some small gaps to cover up yet, I found some baseboard heating covers in my neighbor's dumpster from their remodel that will fit this perfectly. And as a bonus, I found a half can of foam in there too! Its a damn good thing carpeting covers this mess lol. The back area looks solid, I think the quarter panel absorbed all the moisture | |

Looked there already, that is the one spot on this thing that isn't rotted through. The right one has surface rust on it, but thats about it.

| My faithful old 94 run of the mill old gold rusty roady was the same way,. i layed down cardboard then mixed up fibreglass resin and poured it over it,it soaked into the cardboard easily,.. the second coat was fibreglass mat randomly cut and layed into a still wet thick coat of resin,. I lent the car to a freind and he overheated it and blew it up,. was a shame, was the best damn wagon i,ve ever owned and worked very hard for me, and the family all loved the muffler delete mod,.*sigh* rad was held in with chicken wire,. sorry for the hijack,. keep up the good work,.
