| I have some sort of Hooker mufflers with no resonators on my 9C1. Don't know the model, they came with the car. They have a real nice rumble but without the resonators you get an annoying drone. | |

| Start by deleting the resonators . I did that to my 9c1, kept the stock set up minus the res. and it gave it a low rumble on the throttle. If its just not loud enough, go with a muffler that will fit the stock pipes. This will get you more depth... ......then if your still not happy save the pennys and do the whole system starting with headers. ...... to lessing the drone effect you gotta angle the the tips outwards instead of straight back or straight down. | |

| These are sweet if you are just changing mufflers. This will allow you to keep everything stainless, get a great rumble, yet not be to loud. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/WLK-17226/
This if you are looking for a full cat back, this is as cheap as they come. I have used this system twice and liked it. http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS+Performance+Products/555/30410/10002/-1 |

YUP ! it's an aquired sound....think General Lee at WOT even when cruzing around town loud. there are tons of vids on streetfire.net and youtube of it, even my car.... Summit has some good cheap stuff, but the sound has too much manners for me... not the ones Bill showed you i mean summit brand. I heard them on a 96 SS and it was good if you have to muffle it. GL and have fun. -AFLF out...

| Spliced in Flowmaster 40's in stainless, kept the resonators. Little rumble at idle, hard acceleration sounds good, and no drone at highway speeds. | |

Same with the dynomax. I liked them on a stock exhaust. |

| Effort into an exhaust? I just chopped them off of the cougar Talk about drone! TBH I like the sound of a good flowmaster 40/50 series on various cars. I'd start on youtube with good sound quality and see what you like. Then narrow it down from there. | |

I use this guys stuff every time. They are flowmaster 40 replicas 2 mufflers for $70 shipped! 2.5" inlet/ outlet... You will need to get 4 adapters from advance/vato zone to go from 2" to 2.5. Cheeeeeeeap! And they are a nice quality muffler IMO. I got a set right now for the wagon, and I'm thinking about some for the caddy too! Exact sound of flowmaster 40's.

What kind of sound levels are acceptable to you? What headers or manifolds do you have? Cats there, or deleted? I put in the complete Clear-Image Tri-Y headers and their whole system back to the tails with SpinTech mufflers and no resonators, but the sound was WAY TOO AGGRESSIVE! Replaced them immediately with Dyno-Max stainless steel 2.5" in & out Ultra-Flo mufflers and long D/M bullet resonators (no cats) and now it is still "gnarly" but acceptable.

I drive my daughter to daycare in the purpala. I like the route that "ironfist" recommends with the ebay flowmaster replicas. I currently have no cats and everything else is stock. I really appreciate everybodys imput.
