| Subject: Convert your LT1 to LS1 ignition and ECUs Sat Sep 10, 2011 1:27 pm | |
| http://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/default.aspx saw this in this month's Hot Rod on their LT1, they went from 485hp peak and 552tq peak to 507hp peak and 565tq peak with an average gain of 18hp across the board and huge increases down low (over 30tq) below 3000rpms they were actually able to dial back fuel and make more power might be old news, but thought it was cool. some information I found when fiddling with it though: - Quote :
- IMPORTANT! Please read the following information that you need to know based on your selection(s) above:
Early LT1 engines will require a 96-97 LT1 timing cover or the billet aluminum LT1 timing cover. Early LT1 engines will also require a 96-97 LT1 crank hub to avoid misalignment of the accessory belt. Early 4L60E transmissions are not compatible with the LS1 PCM. These early transmissions will require 96-newer internal electronics, including solenoids, internal harness, and valve body. Please work with a trusted transmission shop for updating your early 4L60E to 96-newer electronics. EFI Connection does not offer a plug and play engine harness for the LT1 Impala, Caprice, Roadmaster, or Fleetwood. We only offer a Street Rod style universal harness that is not ideal for these vehicles. This is usually a deterrent from purchasing our 24x system. If you have an LT1 Impala, Caprice, Roadmaster, or Fleetwood and are determined to use our 24x conversion, your engine harness can be reworked by changing the PCM connectors and adding the coil harness components. EFI Connection does not offer a rework service for any of these engine harnesses. | |
