I "bought" the gold 9c1 from that movie for Craig @ Key Motors. I found it and test drove it and set up the deal.
It still had the crease on the hood from when Jim Carey slid down it in the movie.

I believe that the car that flips was not a SS, it did not have dual exhaust. Either way, it hurts to watch.

Ha, never even realized this, for Seinfeld viewers I believe this is the "Serenity Now" episode...lol
Looks like a "piss yellow" Starion/Conquest TSi in the corner! I love those things lol.
Besides the WX3, there is a gold 76-77 Olds Cutlass behind that boring blue 78-up A or G body Olds-moe-Bubble on the left.
If both the SS and the 76-77 Cutlass were available to me in perfect condition today, I would likely take the Olds.
Anybody here else agree?

No it is a 76-77, look at a pic of a 70 then a 76 next to that one and you'll see the light!
As for the piss yellow unknown, looks like it has the Starion flares and wheels, but those are popular import wheels. I honestly have no idea what the VW looks like so I can't really argue.

I wasn't arguing that it wasn't a 76-77.... I was simply saying I wouldn't take a 76-77 over a B-Body, but I would take a 1970.

Ohh now I see the light! I would take a 76 Chevelle laguna Type S-3 over an impala ss, though I'd take the ss over the colonnade Olds.

Only time there was ever one in the show...funny thing is, Frank is bitching about the leg room in the back seat, and I believe he tells her to pull the lever and slide the seat forward, which a non electric pass seat in an Impala is pretty rare I believe, at least I've never seen one in the 10 or so Impalas I've had
About the Starion, (that is almost def. A orange/yellow Starion or Conquest) there is one in almost every other episode in one of the outside apartment shots of Jerry's apartment. Those were semi popular cars back when the show was filmed in the early 90s

Kinda funny, the car actually sounds like an SS sort of, and it appears to have the floor shift too.
Some guy in Beverly had a Conquest TSi rotting in his front yard for ages, it may still be there, a friend and I stopped by once because he had his garage open, and there was an early 30s (maybe older) Chevrolet open top touring car in there, lol.
It's funny how many Impalas there were on Seinfeld, this one pictured, the one Kramer drove (a 1973 airbag equipped model, which is very rare), another 64-ish one Kramer had before that, George is driving a '76 Impala when the guy jumps out of the hospital window and lands on the roof, collapsing it (Pigman episode), and then of course there is the brown Caprice that Kramer has when the heater is broken, and the Caprice Classic taxi that the cab driver "recommends" in the "Dealership" episode.
This is the airbag car: http://imcdb.org/vehicle_86392-Chevrolet-Impala-1973.html

Lets keep in mind that this is not an Olds or "disco era" vehicle thread, nevertheless I do come from an Olds-family back ground, and these cars very much interest me. I was carried home from the hospital, immediately following my entrance into this world, in a dark green 1948 Olds woody wagon.
My first new car was a 442, 1968. It is in very rough shape now, but due to it's value to me personally as well as on the muscle car market, I believe it is worth my time and effort restoring. I've been collecting the necessary parts toward this project for many years.
A college friend had a brand new blue and white convertible 1970 W30 with a 4-speed and a bench seat, and of course I loved his car, but for some reason, I prefer the cleaner lines of the 1968 442.
I just feel that relative market value not withstanding, the 76-77 Olds "A"-body (2-door) cars are very nearly perfect, to my own personal aesthetic tastes. The 70 442 always reminded me of how the muscle Pontiacs got to look so "contrived-macho" with all the lumps, scoops and bulges.
This project remains on the back burner for the time being.
This is a fine running Olds, I ordered it new with EVERY option available in the book.

That's pretty amazing that you bought those cars new and still have them. The 442 isn't all that rough compared to some of the ones you see people restoring nowadays.

It's funny you bumped this thread. Now hear me out on this one...
The other day I was watching some of those 90's nickelodeon shows. On the Amanda show, the episode where the characters including Tony Pajamas and judge Trudy were in a contest to stay in a Cadillac the longest to win money.
Anyway. At some point, in a skit Amanda Bynes jumps into a real impala ss BBB as a get away car. I was like wtf!?!?!? I wouldn't have seen that 15 years ago lol. There's alot of B bodies in those old shows. And to think, they were just about brand new at the time of filming. There were taxi cabs and police cars in these shows too. I even think the movie good burger had a few.

Not an SS...but what the hey, it's a very famous B-body in the film making world...lol
Always found it sorta funny, director Sam Raimi almost always finds a way to sneak his personal car into his movies. I'm sure over the years the car was either completely rebodied or a double was used, I mean in one film the whole roof of the car is missing. There are a few mistakes there though, a couple of the screenshots definitely do not show this car, one shows 1980s Olds Cutlass Supremes and another has a 1970-ish Oldsmobile 98.

I really need to find a clip from Seinfeld, in the episode where Kramer takes the new Saab on a test drive to see how far he can go without running out of gas...they're in a taxi getting a ride home from the dealer, and Elaine goes "See, this is nice, what is this?" And the disinterested cab driver, without flinching is like "...Caprice Classic." LOL

Haha, so I'm at the computer today, and see a screenshot of a promotion/commerical for the TV show "Archer" (one of my favorites). I see a car in it that is about 3/16 long on my laptop screen, and I could already tell what it was. And it's a longroof!
http://www.hulu.com/watch/436085
Can't wait to see that episode, pretty good job with the detail of the car from what I can tell, usually that show mixes different parts of different cars together to mess with the viewer (along with cell phone use crossed with extremely outdated 1960s technology).

That combined with the love of big cars is making me think were related some how lol. What are you going to say next that Regina Pizza is the best food in the world and there is no music that isn't classic rock?
Oh btw how come no one has mentioned the two part Seinfeld espisode "the Cadillac"? Both episodes were all about a brand new Fleetwood Brougham Jerry bought for his father.

Well, despite the engine and suspension innacuracy, I will say this; they did a damn good job animating it AND by the looks of the 2nd picture, they got the factory recommended occupancy #, spot on! Lol
