PostSubject: Car Movies   Sat Jul 04, 2009 12:44 pm

As a spinoff of the movie database thread I decided we should compile a list of great car movies that everyone should see before they die. I'll get it started and everyone else throw in ones that they know and maybe a reason why it's great for those who don't know the movie.

These movies feature cool concept cars:
iRobot
Demolition Man
Wraith
Back to the future 2
The Island

These movies feature drag racing over storylines or realism or anything else:
Hot Rod (aka Rebel of the Road)
2 Lane Blacktop
Fast and the Furious series

These movies are known for chase scenes:
Gone in 60 Seconds
Gone in 60 Seconds (remake)
Bullitt
Transporter series
Italian Job (remake)
Vanishing Point
Blues Brothers

Cross country racing at it's best:
Gumball Rally
Cannonball Run series
Deathrace 2000

Nascar/F1:
Talladega Nights
Stroker Ace
Cars
Days of Thunder
Driven

Big Rigs having fun:
Duel
Maximum Overdrive
Convoy
Smokey and the Bandit series

Stuff blowing up and getting destroyed:
Hooper
Transformers
Crank
Christine

Smokey and the bandit 1&2, dukes of hazzard, any James bond movies (goldeneye with the 2 Austin martins), these all had great car chases as far as I'm concerned

Lets start figuring out where all these newly listed movies fall in the catagories. I'll edit the list when I know where to put the movies.

Just picked up an old movie that I used to love back in the day. Figured I'd revive the thread now that stores are starting to carry old movies on dvd.

Black Dog
