I know a bunch of us dont drive the B's all year, and I'm pretty sure we did one of these threads last winter. I'll start
1989 Jeep Cherokee, 4wd auto. 40 I6. 240k miles
When I first got it in summer, oversized tires on crappy looking wheels
Painted the wheels, cleaned it up a little bit. Correct size tires
A few days ago, after its first time off-roading

Those older Cherokees have their idiosyncrasies with random parts and whatnot but damn do they take a beating. I've been in one that bottomed out on a fallen pine tree, crashed into stuff on purpose, in my eyes they're more offroadable than the same vintage Wranglers when both are stock. I think the Cherokee might have higher ground clearance.
My daily non B-body is my '93 Blazer, up to 232,XXX miles now. I think the 350 TBI is as old as the truck, although I did find some screwed up wiring next to the engine, broken engine grounds, and the oil pan seems to be un-rusty, so I'm not 100 percent sure. I doubt it's been touched though aside from maintenance. I'm sure the tranny's been rebuilt and the rear end is a 14-bolt semi-floater I had swapped in that was not available on these.
Still have to do the outermost rear axle tube bearings, sway bar links (just got Moog ones), leaky CV boots on driver's side half shaft, the rear springs squeak when it's under 45 degrees out, the bottom of the pass. side quarter is rotted, headliner is falling down in a couple spots, the rear defroster needs to be reconnected and half the lines on the glass are scratched, AC doesn't work, the front buckets are uncomfortable and I want 95+ seats, blah blah blah. I complain about it but it's never let me down and I'll probably be keeping it, even if I got another similar truck. I probably WILL wind up getting a newer Tahoe or Yukon because of this truck.
With the summer wheels:
This pic is from over a year ago but that's basically how it looks now.

LOL the Roady is RWD, ABS don't work. The van is FWD and has ABS. It is a BEAST in the snow. It's a shame though the van was originally from Florida until a few years ago and it is still black underneath not a spot of brown or orange in sight.

I remember going to Washington DC when I was little with my family on a roadtrip, and all we saw were those vans on route 95, now I hardly ever see them!

They are not very common. Especially the Oldsmobile. All you see is the Pontiacs and they are all beat to hell.

I meant the APV (?) vans in general, I remember seeing those taillights. The Olds is WICKED rare.
Funny you mention the Pontiac ones, I got stuck in one once because the inside handle for the sliding door was missing.

There is one at Hollands, similar if not the same color with a tan interior. I didn't notice if it was an Olds or Pontiac.

My friends mom had one and it didnt last too long, A pontiac one, it was a junk box when i rode in it and it was only about 8 years old. It became their lawn ornament for a few years after lol.
I'm sure its cool to see a car rare like that one...but damn I hate minivans lol ...but still seeing an olds van in that good of condition is pretty sweet.

Im almost sure that is the origional, Ive seen this car in person a few times and for a car that has driven literally more than the distance from the earth to the moon, it looks really good.
....does anyone know how long the factory warranty was for these cars when they were new?

It's easy enough to determine if it is the original engine.
All engines and transmissions are stamped with a partial vehicle identification number. The stamping contains nine (9) positions.
Position.. #1 is GM Division. { 1=Chevrolet } Position.. #2 is model year. { a letter } Pos........ #3 is assembly plant { a letter } example : ( R = Arlington, Texas ) Positions. #4 - #9 is the plant production sequential number. This is the same as the last six #s on your vin plate & title.
The first location is on a pad extending from the engine block deck surface directly in front of the passenger side cylinder head. There is secondary location on the engine's vertical pad next to the drivers side trans-locating dowel pin behind and above your oil filter. The original trans will also have a partial vin # stamped on it matching the vin on the title & lower drivers side dash plate. The V.I.N.'s 3rd, 8th and last six digits will conclusively confirm if the engine and/or trans are original to the vehicle.
Sometimes while machining an engine deck surface during the remanufacturing process, the front pass side pad #s get machined off partly or completely. For serious restorations, we can follow legal procedures to re-stamp the block with the same numbers. It is also possible to find a suitable correct date coded replacement casting, and photo document the stamping of a replacement block if the original is unusable.
I don't know how long the factory warranty lasted.

No need to clone it. Iv'e got three more 9C1s parked next to this one, a black 88, a metallic grey 89 and a dark brown 90. All covered with snow presently. The grey 89 needs a front clip and the tan one took a hit in the passenger side B pillar. All repairable. I also have enough spares in the sheds to complete the cars.

She is a fun little pocket rocket, not quite as fast as people make it out to be though, it does not really come alive till about 3,000 rpms.
I bought this car with 25k miles on it in 04. I drove it for a year or two as a commuter when they were still a cool, hot car and sold it to my sister for what I owed on it. She has since put around 80k girly miles on it herself and it has around 140k miles now and I just picked it up for what she wanted to put down on her new car, so it was a nice little deal. It needs cats and I just had to cure some typical Subaru cancer on the rear fenders, but I plan on driving this thing till the body falls off.

Save your self some money on the cats. You can fix them your self by using the subaru fix. Remove the cat. Cap off the upstream side. Fill it with full strength lemon juice, and let it sit over night. Then cap the other end, and shake it. Then pour the lemon juice out the downstream side. The acids in the juice will unclog the cat. Yes this really works. I have done it a couple times with great results.

My 95 Towncar Taken last year when a co-worker was complaining about an inch of snow. I was reading e-mail as I waited for the town plow to come by. This stopped the complaints nicely.
The co-worker is in Greensboro NC and 1 inch of snow shuts the whole place down.

My 95 Towncar Taken last year when a co-worker was complaining about an inch of snow. I was reading e-mail as I waited for the town plow to come by. This stopped the complaints nicely.
The co-worker is in Greensboro NC and 1 inch of snow shuts the whole place down.
I've always wanted one of these, and I want a '95 because it's pre-emissions (in MA) but has the updated interior/lights, etc.
Kudos to keeping the six running lights on the back under the trunk lid in working order, it always drove me crazy when one of these passed me and half of the bulbs were blown.
