| Stock ACdelco monotube/premium shocks . The car came with "new" Carbon shocks that are far from advertized and bounce like a mofo. Found a dealer that was said to have like, the last set of these. Got 'em for half price/halfway across the country. still in the box. Got the rear ones coming this week half price too. They are going in tomorrow with hotchkis drop springs in the gold car. Springs are already in the back, with bad shocks...but I bought it like that. So whats left but to improve a little...

Sweet deal! I'm still waiting to find NOS two door stuff in some old dealership parts stash. I'd love some specific stuff someday, like doors and quarters.

The heater core and all would have been done, But the car has been parked for a while now and it skips my mind. The suspension was half assed kinda, so i figured aside from new tires, it needed the shocks/springs finished. Heres what I meant is on there now

These are the pics that were emailed to me from OUTRAGIS in VT in aug. when I was thinkin about buying it. The duals got put on about 2 months ago. Got it all from fisha during the spring. The muffler in the pic was so rotted that you could barely hear the person next to you talking

Yeah, ditch the scaly stuff and add two mufflers....or just two pipes and no mufflers And BTW straight pipes are pretty illegal in MA. Cops will nail you in a heart beat. They're not stupis and I dont want to hear "my buddy will give me a sticker". Cuz he wont, its his ass if he does. Ive heard to many stories, it wouldnt be worth the loss in back pressure anyway. Lol, I'm well aware, even the rotten muffler would get you pulled over. I wouldn't do a straight pipe to MY car, but I like how motors sound un-muffled. I mean who doesnt? other than cops.... That car is a 4.3? I thought it was an LT1

Yup, there's two cars. there is my '95 caprice with a 4.3, color light driftwood. then there's my '96 9C1 with a 5.7, color black Hope that clears it up I knew that but I thought the gold or "driftwood" caprice was an LT1 also. I thought it started life the same way the 96 did. I looked at the 96 plenty in October so I know what it is Na. I dont think I want two LT1's right now. Gas mileage sucks as it is. The "driftwood" colored caprice gets good mileage, and will be my daily once its done, so the wear and tear is minimalized on the 9C1

Gotcha, I wouldn't let it go either its a NICE car. I'd like to keep the caprice forever because I couldn't keep the first one. Tough without a garage but hopefully the pop-up will last me a while, at least this winter.
I like 383 GMPP crate, but I might stroke my 350TPI to a 383TPI, then again LT1 or LS swap is an option too....either way I have time to think before I have the money to get all the parts I need.

Yea, its always money. The monte only has 83k miles and has a crazy story too it. I could have done an engine full out a few months ago, but, I have too many projects and saving up with the wife for a house, so I can do whatever I please to cars mine or not and have as many as i want at the same time. Im going to stick to the basics. No point in going overboard with machining a block for a car i will almost never drive. So a crate will do. the works already done. The 305 may have some valve problems, tranny needs to be made a boat anchor, but the rest of the car is near perfect, no rust/rot. It drives great, fast, but it just doesnt run right. Im sure the engine in it is not the original.

http://home.comcast.net/~spudmanmike/scrapbook.pdf Pretty sweet deal! I like it, but theres plenty of bums selling "lt1s" out there. I did consider that at one point, But I dont know, If its not "out of the box" its not going in the monte

| The caprice has a replacement 305, and it needs a carb rebuild, or a new carb. I only drove it for three months so I didn't bother spending the 300 bucks i had left to my name to get a new one. I would even settle for just a 290 HP crate from GMPP, I don't really need a crazy motor for it seeing as I want a summer cruiser. But we all know how that goes | |

Yes we do. I got a rebuild from autozone. Rochester quadrajet like $340. Traded the Carter that came with the car, for some parts I needed.
