| I was playing with the idea myself a couple years ago. I was going a different route with it though instead of the awkward looking slant post that the t-bird window causes. Notice the difference the angle of the post makes from mine to the real one that gets built | |

| 4 or 5 off the top and 12 out of the middle. I don't think Thunderbird windows will fit. I don't know what to use for the rear quarter window or how to do the rear window. I don't know. Maybe Bill M. will figure it out when he starts cutting it up. | |

| That car doesn't look stock to me. Mine looks like a stock setup. Plus it doesn't change the overall length or the roof in any way. 1) Cut the front door down the middle and graft a new center door section in to make it a few inches longer. Same with the window rails and such. The window motor may need to be moved over a bit for the windows to roll down sufficiently. 2) Cut the B pillar out and weld it back in, the appropriate distance back. 3) Section out the center of the rear door and weld the 2 halves back togather, and then weld it shut so that it can be finished smooth. 4) Take the front door glass to a glass place and tell them it needs to be repop'd but extended however many inches. 5) Make a cardboard template of the rear glass opening and have a new piece made from that template. Install it using the stock mounting hardware for the quarters, plus add a couple mounts to the B-pillar side for extra support. (this could be done in plexiglass, which saves cost and weight, since it won't see a window wiper) 6) Paint and pictures and trophies | |

The only glass that would have to be made is the door glass. Might even get away with not changing the angle on the windshield or back glass |

| My version doesn't touch the roof (other than moving the pillar) and in turn doesn't effect the front or rear glass at all. The quarter glass and door glass are the only things to deal with and those are fairly straightforward pieces. | |

But the side glass is curved. The roof is getting chopped so I dont think Thunderbird windows will fit. The guy that did the two door said he lengthed the rear deck and that is was a lot of work. I've said too much already I don't want to jinx a possible project.

| So since you designed one and are so behind your extensive design work, and have the funding and donor vehicle necessary, when are you gonna try to build yours, Brad? | |

| I can't. My uncle sold his shop last fall and then I sold the car I was either going 2-door or 4-door no post. He was leaning 2-door because he thought removing the B-pillar would ruin the rigidity of the car in a crash. By the way Crovo, why not provide some insight or help to make the project easier for him instead of nitpicking me I'm just trying to provide a way to make the project go smoother to prevent headaches down the line. If you're planning on a chopped top then my method would be even more work than the original plan would be and I'd recomend not following my steps. Either way though plan on getting new glass made. The only other way to do a chop top without cutting glass is to sink the lower portion into the body and that's alot of work. | |

Where's the fun in that. I would start by looking at what rear side window you might use. There maybe something you could use and save from having it custom made. The t-bird rear side was used because of the over all shape went with the car, but you can use whatever you feel works. The other window that comes to mind would be from a 97-03 pontiac grand prix 2 door.

| On a related note, what kind of mirrors are you going to run on it when it's done? I'd go with something chrome and door mounted, but that's the type of guy I am. Maybe just trim and refit the stock ones? | |

| Based on the angle and the length I'd say start measuring out some of them f-body windows to see how close they fit. Maybe you could get the measurements from a couple different gens and see if any will be plug and play. | |

Thanks for the offer but I'm thinking about a shorter window. I wonder if Chargers have started to turn up at the junkyards yet. I might have a larger image somewhere.

| Wow, two years and not even started. Well at least I've managed to collect a few more big more parts. Although I now have to replace some smaller stuff. I'm working on getting time in a shop with a lift, welder, air tools and more. Who knows maybe some day this pig will fly. | |

| Mostly blue interior. That's some of the small stuff that I lost. I traded the door panels for some muffler clamps.
It had a cop chip but I swapped it for a Camaro Corvette chip. +1

| Why does every one doing 2 doors Choose to make the rear window so big? If you look at a 2 door box or any from the 60's they have alot of c pillar. Why not make the c pillar closer to a Rms or fwb and reduce the glass to a smaller piece, If I can get to a paint program today I'll do some cut and paste. To me it's too much glass. | |
