| So.. Im always up to something.. never content.. anywho, hears the story. Local shop has had a caprice in the yard for about 2 weeks so far. No plates. Looks very dirty but CLEAN(like, dirty as if it was under a tree for a while lol if that makes sense). I saw big mirrors and dual exhaust. Its a sedan. Black with grey leather! So, i stop in to talk to him. He got it through some sort of Estate something or another.. He just picked it up and is trying to get the title. Its night so I didnt bother looking at it. Could see that the Tank straps were rusty when I drove by earlier, but that doesnt say much. So I tell him im interested, and he says"ok, ill call you if/when I get the title" sweet! I start walking out and I get an"oh by the way.. it only has 33k miles on it" so im like Please call me when you have more info!!! Cliffs, 95/96 Caprice sedan black with grey leather 33k miles Thats all I know.. He asked how much would i pay for it, I said im not sure I'd have to see how bad the rust is.. but damn, Impala colors and SUPER low miles.. even if the underside is scaly, whats the thing worth?? Thanks guys.. | |

| I'd start at $1500 and work up to maybe $2200 from there. If it were me... | |

| Well, if its fairly clean underneath with NO rot, just surface rust, i may end up taking a big hit and selling the wagon to buy it.. | |

| I'd wait until he gets the title. It's amazing how many cars are sold with title "issues" and the end result is the buyer has to return the car to the rightful owner and try to sue the place that sold it. | |

| If there is a title issue I can register it here in RI and then sell it out of state with a "title exempt" form and it will allow you to title the car in any state. Gotta love RI. | |

| I'll bet they do. Crazy isn't it? Think of all those perfect cars that were junked, parted or sold for CHEAP due to no title. In RI, cars that are 10 years or older are title exempt. | |

| Sounds like a great lead, but be careful, you have to look at it closer. Check the inner front fenders for the usual rot holes, and then check the lower rear quarters for their usual spots. I walked away from a '95 w/70K recently that was sitting in a damp area for a couple of years, and because of that the framerail under the drivers side doors was so rusted that I could bend the frame up and down by hand. And then pieces were coming off ! Of course the brake lines were rotted away too. If your's is in good shape, driveable, and has no rot, I'd say around $2k give or take the options and condition. | |

Seconded, my 93 had 57K, but had been driven only a few thousand miles in the last 10 years. Although it was occasionally brought out and serviced, the car was filthy and had rot starting in the lower quarters, one side actually caused by electrolysis from a brass pair of GM car keys (still with knockouts) sitting down in the trunk extension . Fortunately I grabbed it before anything serious started.

Isn't that what you do when you want your bikini line to stay gone?

| Paul, just put a CPT level 1 in it and call it a day, or r a low milage trany localy. I can help with the transmission. On jack stands, I can switch one out in just under 5 hours. We would just need a transmission, and place to do it. |

I did win $500.00 on a scratch ticket tonight which is cool, just don't know if I should put it towards bills, a transmission, registering my jeep, or towards that caprice.. gotta see if it has a title first..

| I'd just buy more scratch tickets. If you can get Billy's nephew to help you can cut that time estimate by quite a bit. | |
