| Everyone tends to write these cars off. Speacially when they have the 265 c.i. engine. Its a shame. But I do have for sale my red '94 caprice with 104k. I almost traded it for a '93 but the significant other would be pretty mad when I didn't get any money out of it for the wedding in August. It has power drivers seat, mirrors, windows, locks, antenna, an cruise control. New taolpipe. Oil change, fuel filter, and A/C service within the last 2 months. Also did a coolant flush back in Feb.New tailpipe, battery, alt, and serp. belt. Also I just replace tha pass. side sway bar end link last weekend. This car has NO rot, you could eat off of the door jams if you wanted to. Original red paint, red cloth interior with a split bench w/ arm rest. Has 3 small rust spots, 2 on the hood around the grill, and one on the drivers door A pillar. Newer tires, that were just remounted and balanced on the factory wheel and has the gray plastice hub caps which one is missing a small piece. Factory AM/FM cassette. The body has several bumps dings and scrapes, nothing crazy tho. Not bad for a 3rd owner New England car. The bad: ABS light comes on when it is below freezing or a cold winter morning. Probably from heat pattern changes on the tone rings or something. The dash does the usual fade in and out every so often. And the rear windo(s) may be off the track. If someone wants to post the pics for me that would be great, I can email them to you. Let me know. I would like to ask 2500 or a reasonable best offer. This caprice could make a great clone if any one is interested in that stuff. | |

| It's a gorgeous car. If Laura had the money she'd be all over it.
If you want I can help you swap out the rollers to make the list of "bad" things a little smaller. You know how picky some people tend to get.

| Figure out when your free and find some rollers. We can have it done in an afternoon. I've done it enough times now to almost know what I'm doing 2 rollers per door. The gm kit has 5 rollers in a pack. That means one kit fixes 2 doors People sometimes find the rollers in the help section at parts stores. It's a dorman brand | |

Yes it is . And it still takes up all that B body space in my driveway. Two B bodies, and a '98 taurus in the driveway. I have to parallel park every night If you need pics I can email them if you'd like.

| I'd like to but, I need a more fuel efficient car, and I will not drive my cali 9c1 in the winter. She needs her own. Thats why I bought the 94. And now I want to get rid of it. I want to stop driving the 96 so I can get under way with more of a personal touch. The damn taurus only has 59k. Hate to see the demise of a low mileage car you know? But I definately am not going to fix it. if it was a rear wheel drive GM, maybe. Not a 3.0 FWD taurus. | |

| I'd keep the Caprice if it's reliable- no more fuel efficient car is worth the headaches dealing with possible FWD tranny replacements, post-95 model year emissions testing, higher insurance rates (I think the Caprice has the lowest insurance rates out there), head gaskets going on smaller motors, and so on...everyone is always banking on getting better gas mileage and winds up losing money on everything else! I think that's the reason why most people love their B-bodys. That sucks about the Taurus. Friend of mine had the same thing happen on a low mileage one! He wound up abandoning the car in a Hannaford's Supermarket parking lot. | |

| 1994 Caprice L99 EPA Estimated mileage 18/26
1999 Taurus 3.0 EPA Estimated mileage 20/28
I'm not sure what year your taurus is but the mileage between the two cars is not that far off. Were talking a few MPG's.

| Laura's getting the money together and if you still have it in the next week or 2 then she'll try again to snag it from you. Just don't make her have to try a 3rd time | |

That sucks about the Taurus. Friend of mine had the same thing happen on a low mileage one! He wound up abandoning the car in a Hannaford's Supermarket parking lot. You are correct, I just don't see beating on a perfectly good B body. I dont consider them beater cars. buying a crap early '90's acura or some lame jazz like that will be the perfect volunteer to, death by corrosion, and I wont feel bad if one costs me $1,000. I wouldnt mind getting something newer tho...thinking silverado. Tho there is a dealership in S. Attleboro here that has a '93 and '96 Caprice for sale. They are pretty crappy salesmen tho. The online add lied about mileage and engine type...apparently in fairy land, a '93 Caprice came with a TBI LT1. And the test drive on the '93 was a tad scary...idk...guys that sell em on c/l with a no start condition are usually a cheap steal. The deale want $4,999 for either one CRAZY. My george bates caprice cost me $5,500 with 13k on the drive train... now I'm just ranting. On the other hand, after I tore down all the emissions/ignition crap in my way in the tauruas, my second look found that it was just a thumb tack sized hole in a freeze plug...1 35mm freeze plug from where? China!, a 2 hour coolant flush by hand, now its fixed and clear for take off(or the next catastrophic problem)!!! The damn thing only has 59k and its a '98...
