No I'm not trying to make the wagon have less miles. I bought a 91-93 9C1 cluster but has higher miles than my car so I wanted to roll the cluster back to match. Anyone know how to do that?

Put it in the car, jack it up and put it in reverse at WOT.

i hope your good at soldering.
ive had a 9c1 cluster sitting around for years because im not very good at soldering.
did you get the plugs that clip into the dash also?
they need to have about 6" of wire still attached to make re-wiring easy.
i have (somewhere) which wires go where when changing plugs.

if this is all new info to you sorry.
the reg. caprices 91-93 have a 1 plug dash cluster connector.
9c1 and occ clusters have 2 plug connectors.
i can take a pic of the back of both clusters if this makes no sense.

Yeah, someone on longroof was giving me the rundown. I'm hoping the guy included some of the harness. And no, I suck at soldering. I may use those solderless connectors.

if you need that info on the wires to switch ill take a look for it.
there use to be a thread about the swap on issf that had alot of good info.
but it might have gone away with the crash.

On analog guages you can open it up and spin the number wheels gently. No Price is Righting the thing. On digidash units even the reverse trick don't work. It'll need to be reprogrammed by someone.

Its an analog 9C1 cluster. Does the reverse thing actually work? I thought that was just an urban legand? Not that id actually do that lol.

If it's an old car with a completely mechanical speedo then the reverse trick may just work Wink
