| Just wanted to say Hi to ya'll & tell ya thanks for letting me join. I'm located in the South, so I may have an accent compared to ya'll. LOL.... I live about an hour north of Memphis, Tennessee. I'm located in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I have a 95 Caprice, civilian model with leather and an LT1. Just sold my 95 Caprice 9C1. My project at this time is my 96 Impala SS. Now I have ALL the interior out & re-painted. New carpet arrived this week. Installing sound deadening, replacing all vent seals, cleaning out the vents & just looking for anything that needs cleaning or fixing on the interior. Got my car back from the paint shop a couple of weeks ago. A friend of mine did the body work & painting. He still has the bumpers to finish and install, re-install back glass & quarter glasses. He also has to re-work a couple of areas & re-buff the complete car to remove all the swirls. When you have a friend to do stuff like this for you, at a cheaper price, you have to put up with more & longer delays. After interior is finished I'm going to replace distributor assembly, water pump, install 160 degree thermostat, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires, new radiator, install K&N air filter and install Hypertech Power Programmer. I've had all the parts for about 2 years now & finally decided to get the job done. Also have new Impala SS wheels (had for 3 years) & just had new Nitto's installed on them. Will install the wheels last. Also have a set of aluminum heads but not sure if I'm gong to install them this time or not. If I decide to install the heads, I may as well pull the engine & do a complete rebuild and stroke it (the engine that is) lol....... damn I better shut up or ya'll will never speak to me..... Sorry for being so long winded. Hope ya'll all have a Happy New Year & 2010 will be a healthy & much better than 2009 has been.

| Welcome aboard Rusty. We are a local forum for those up here in the northeast, (yes that makes us yankees), but you are more than welcome to hang out. Making one of our events would be a long drive to and from for you. There are alot of good guys here with many years of experience with these cars, and alot of good info as well. So please make yourself at home. |

| Thank ya'll for making me feel at home. I see everyone wants pics. I'll have to borrow a digital camera, take the pics., then figure out how in the hell to display them on here. But I'll get it done. Iceman 3201, yes I'm a former Marine but didn't work on helicopters. I was a weapons system specialist on A6-Intruders. I've been out of the Marines for 30 plus years but it's still in me and always will be. Howdy, toomanytoyz, that does sound familar. Also thanks for the info. on the headers. The headers, gaskets, collectors and bolts are my next items to get ordered. Thanks again ya'll for the welcome. | |

| have you talked to deputy 347k9? 20 years marines retired. then joined the maine police dept? one of the best men you could ever want to talk to. wait till you see his ride. ive been told its fast we had a fall round up cruise. thanks to silver fox. coming back on the pike. ive my cruise set at 80. yes it was to slow for a six speed tranny. to step on in that gear.but larry and his son went by me like i was stopped.. oh yes i wanted to. but i cant pull out a badge and get a warning. but it was pretty watching it go by in the few seconds i saw it. code 10-33 right larry? | |

| OOOOHHHRAHHHH!!!!!! SEMPER FI!!!!! Thanks Brian...... Iceman3201, I haven't talked with deputy347k9 yet but sounds like he & I have alot in common. I'm also a certified law enforcement officer. I'm in my 8th year as Constable of my district and serve as the Commander in Charge of our County Deputy Sheriff's Reserve Unit. Sometimes having a badge does have some advantages but then again everyone expects you to obey the traffic laws. So its good to know some of the local police & surrounding areas police force. Last time I was stopped was this past summer going WAY to fast on my Valkyrie. I had to pull over & wait on him to catch up with me. When he saw who it was he just checked my bike out & we talked about typical bull. My 96 Impala SS has or had limo black tinted windows and we have an ordinance on tinted windows & mine was way to dark. If I used it for my Constable car it would be ok but don't really want to do that. Tonight, I finished removing the tint & GLUE from the windows. Getting them re-tinted will probably be the last thing I do before the spring. I took a couple pics of the 96 Impala SS with my cell phone today before putting dash, headliner and rear window decking back in. I'll still borrow a digital camera this week and take some pics of the Impala & the 95 Caprice LT1 and try to post them soon. | |
