Winter projects and mods

What are you guys planning?

I am planning to finish body work and get paint on, niteshade rear lights, fix window rollors in rear pass door, clear headlights and corners like Billy C got for the marshmallow, front end rebuild, opti vent harness, PCM performance program for 93 octane.

Have you seen these lights?

Dude. You totally need the smoked ones for your car with HIDs. Without a DOUBT!

I plan to swap the disc brake rearend into the marshmallow and maybe get the big motor in there too, if there isn't anything wrong with it. Also have a set of headers and a full exhaust to make fit. And that's all only if Big Ugly does ok in the snow. Otherwise she'll be putting on her snowshoes and being driven this winter.

In the near term, I need to get the motor out of the SS and get the stock one back in it and swap over the SS rims to it.

Big Ugly is done. I just need to get a set of studded snows for the back mounted on the spare rims. I think I missed out on Rich's AND Doug's tires cuz I dragged my heels too long. I also need to replace that 1/4 window.

Sure would be nice to get the garage insulated and sheetrocked before it gets really cold, too.

EDIT: And Jim, those lights look pretty cool, and a lot of work went into them, but I actually like them AYE LOT better with the chrome strip.

I need to:

Replace all of my six bumper fillers. Have a whole set scavenged from eBay and demo derby guys across the country, sanded down the corner fillers with 80grit and some finer sandpaper after that to get the old paint off. Just need to finish sanding then get them painted, I should probably consult a body shop soon!

I need to do something tire related, probably will just put 2 bigger BFGs on back and be done with it.

I have to find out what is making so much noise in my rear suspension- I think the passenger side exhaust pipe is getting caught on the RR coil spring but I can't be sure yet.

Have to do a couple other things too!

Billy, I've heard the VHT niteshades fades to clear after a few years- Have you thought of mixing a few drops of black into some clear and having the lights shot with that? Some body shops do it cheap.

I used Testors "Dark Plastic Window Tint" model spray on my truck's tails. I wetsanded them, painted, then clearcoated them. I never got around to polishing them or giving a final wetsand though. They did look cool.

In reality I will likely only get the 9C1 frame stripped and prepped for the box body.

shave rear door handles, antena, and trunk lock
delete ABS

thats the main stuff, there is alot of ideas that may or may not happen.

I'm going to do my yearly burial mod. It's the one where I see how much of the car gets burried by the snow plows before I get my butt outside to dig it out again. Last year it only had about 5 inches showing above the snow. That was my personal best so far

I'm hoping to get mine driveable, it sat for 2 years with a bad trans, had it rebuilt and put back in last november and drove it 60 miles and the fuel pump went, it has been sitting since, Lots of stuff to do. needs a fuel pump, and have 2 front fenders,hood,3 doors and bumper covers to put on it. It's all apart just have to put her back together.

Actually I have 127 things I need to do on the cars and house.

Well it's snowing so I guess it's winter.

The Camaro is getting a new headliner. Glued on the new liner today and it's waiting to be installed. Wasn't much fun cleaning up the backer board thing.

Will probably get a "new" stock exhaust too. I got one from a guy that had it his shed for like 12 years.

You hav snow? I am watching the pats game. I am surprised to see snow in Foxborough. We have rain and sleet on te coast of Cow Hampshire.

I got my new tires on, so that's out of the way...did my seatbelt guide loops on the seatbacks...next up is those bumper fillers and the rear brakes, they've been hanging up when I ease to a stop- I discovered when I had my wheels off that the rear drums have never been removed from the car...they still have those factory hold on clips on the lug studs!

Yup, it's been snowing a while but it ain't sticking.

I might also look for some 15" snow type tires for the 9C1. Stock posi don't work either.
I might borrow the radio from the Camaro for the winter. Anyone know a local source for power wire longer than 17'?

Going to sound-deaden the whole car with Grace Ice Shield, too. And I'll have to replace the carpet again because somehow the driver's side was cut too short when we installed this one. Got to get a pair of the SS rims widened to 10" and the whole set powdercoated.

So... Not much.

Hope to get it in the garage by March. That means I need to fix the other piece of shit before then. We'll see.

Have you ever used the Grace Ice Shield before for that? Does it smell?

I used "Quick Roof" in my Blazer and it worked great, it's a little thicker than Peel N' Seal and had little to no smell to it, great stuff.

Crovo-I used several rolls of that Ice Shield in my SS-I was impressed from how it turned out sound wise. I had my '94 SS with Dynamat and I would go with the Ice Shield again.
I have to pull the intake manifold from the leak on the back. Since it snowed, hehem the blizzard came my car is done and in for winter. I have my arms to paint and do ball joints on and maybe blast my valve covers(only non-black thing under the hood) and get them black.

oh my lets see where to begin.

purple 95 impala ss (i was hoping to sell it first, but....) Replace rear end bearings, exhaust manifold gaskets, door pulls.

DGGM 95 SS. Replace A/C compresser, alignment, replace posi unit (*%($%* one tire burnouts)

94 caprice. Replace lower quarter panels, front wheel studs, shocks.

99 CV. rewire strobes and LEDs for fire dept usage, front fenders, ball joints.

strip 4 of the remaining parts cars.

I'm going to be busy this winter.

Finish paying for, transporting, storing, and then stripping the '94 9C1.
'96 9C1 moved to inlaws house cuz neighbors tattled to the landlord . Apparently I have too many cars??? I dont have enough in my opinion!!!Once the new '94 is here. Swapping the rear, then back to storage (I know...too many emoticons, so many emotions tho)
Save up for paint, SS grill and springs, and new rims and tires for my red '94 caprice.
And off to school...

...and constantly hot power washing my red caprice to fight the salt and sand
