| Gentlemen - now that the SS is in the hands of our buddy Rich I am going to need a new project car! I have the 9C1 frame I will clean up this winter, the drivetrain and wheels (to powderoat) from Rich's old car, and a couple nice sets of interior to choose from... All I need is the Box Caprice body!
I would prefer something 86-90 for the big single style headlights. I am not sold on 2-door or 4-door, but am leaning toward 4-door. I don't care if it runs, I don't care if the paint is faded, I don't care if the interior looks like Wolverine got pissed while he was in there.
The main thing: NO RUST...or as little as possible. I am so tired of fighting with that crap on every car I have ever had. I am willing to pay a premium for a car without rust, however, the cheaper the better since I am really only using the body...
If you guys don't mind keeping your eyes open when driving around or what you might see online or hear about. I am gonna be pretty picky about the whole rust thing, but other than that I don't care about options of that it is running etc...
Thanks in advance...and just keep it in mind, I am in no hurry at all, just wanted to put it in the back of everyone's minds now...
I REALLY wish I had the cash when those 9C1s in Mass where sold off our of storage for cheap ass money...
Thanks,

| I myself have always liked the idea of a 80-84 two door with the 87-90 mirrors, and nose.
The hottest boxy I ever seen was in the May 2001 issue of GM High-Tech Performance. It features Fred Dryer's white 1990 9C1 Caprice. with custom built Boyd 17" 9c1 replica wheels made of billet aluminum. If memory serves me correct, he purchased the last boxy 9c1 built.
If I can find a pic of it, I will post it. |

| Well it's in new york but I know about a 86 Box brougham, the only rust on it is in the front drivers quarter around the fender flare, but from what I understand it does run and drive it's only got 30k on it and I think the guy is asking 2500 for it? I have his number if your interested | |

| Crovo, I have had my eye on a few nice coupes, if there came a clean one my way I would probably go with it, I am not 100% sold on a 4 door... - LandMaster wrote:

I should have mentioned I am VERY against cloth roof cars. Thanks for thinking of me though. _________________ 1996 Impala SS - 45K original miles - 5.3 LS swap - Brand new Bilsteins...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

http://providence.craigslist.org/cto/1441770653.html Thanks Brad, both look clean from the 20 foot away pictures (and I'm not going near anything "lifted"), but I am super anal about the rust thing, I don't want any of it. I realize that I will likely not find a car around this area rust free, but I just wanted to post up about it in case someone came upon one in the next 6 months or so. Thanks, Doug _________________ 1996 Impala SS - 45K original miles - 5.3 LS swap - Brand new Bilsteins...WHAT A DIFFERENCE!

| A little over priced, but a very nice car. I checked it out the other day since the dealership is down the street from me

| Thanks for the find Rich, but the Box search is now on hold. I just picked up another parts car I could not pass up (95 DCM SS) and just bought a ring for the little lady, so I have to recoup some funds before I can get the box.
Thanks for looking!

http://www.hillcrestchevy.com/VehicleDetails/492748193 I've been driving by that for at least a year, they always have a couple of random special interest vehicles there. The car is literally in mint shape, but has NO OPTIONS! No radio!!! | |
