| Looking for a set of good, and preferably clean, FRONT 9C1 calipers and any hardware I'd need to install them in my wagon. My braking issue is back so I want to install the new hardware I have kicking around.

I have a pair of new(uninstalled) re-man'd calipers & brackets. $120 for the pair

Stupid question... the brackets and calipers will fit in place of the stock hardware from my car correct? Or will I need to mod anything? You need SS/9C1 backing plates which are the support for the caliper brackets. and the E-brake shoe. Also the stock cable won't work, I believe the front one will but you'll need rear SS cables. For the front brakes? DUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Lol oops. But if I said yes would you believe me? BTW Al is thinking like I do also because those are rear calipers in the pic! I'm pretty sure 9C1 and Civi are the same up front!

| There is a difference between front civie, and 9c1/9c3. It is the size of the guide pin diameter. If you are using police calipers, you need the bigger pins. The thread diameter is the same however, so no need to replace king pins. So you need calipers, pins, and pads 9c1 specific

| Yeah I have the pads, I bought 9C1 rotors and pads with the intention of installing them at mod day, only to find out 9C1 pads are bigger. | |

I figured you were swapping to discs in the back. Sorry, should have specified. I forgot 9C1's were 4 wheel disc.

| Not sure if this helps you, but when I bought my 1A2 I found out someone stuck civi calipers up front when it came time to do brakes (SEO pads wouldn't fit). I picked up a pair of reman SEO calipers at autozone and rolled with it. Couldn't you do the same to your car? | |

I'm not sure. Maybe since your car is a 1A2 it was already prepped for big brakes?

Rotors are the same 12" vented across the whole car line up front. Calipers, pads, and guide pins are the difference. At least on 91-96 b, and d-bodys with 5x5" bolt circle. Wagon, caprice sedan, roadmaster, impala ss, fleetwood. _________________ 1980 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. 6.0 87k 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT 4.3 Aluminum V6 (My daily) 2008 Saab 9.3 convertible (Wife's Daily)

| The last caliper I bought from Autozone (civilian) came with new guide pins and the clip for the pads, not bad for $12. The 9C1 spec ones are $32, might be worth picking one up to see if it fits. | |

| Nothing listed for 91-93. '94 has two options, With HD brake, and without. I'm assuming HD brakes is 9C1/9C3. That said, the calipers are $56 each now. | |

| Good info in this thread. Al, if you read this I'll buy those rear calipers and brackets from you. I should have when I got the rear end. | |

| That doesn't sound right, Rockauto lists the regular calipers fitting 78-96 and the HD ones fitting 93-96 Caprice/SS | |

Justin, You might want to consider the 9C1 front caliper with the SILICONE boot from AutoZone. I think I paid $10 or $20 more but will last longer and take the heat. And they DO come with new pins. Something to think about.

| The downside to getting these from Autozone or Rockauto is that I'm going to get nailed on the core charges since I won't have calipers to give back. Also, call me paranoid but I fear I'll buy the reman's and end up getting a civi caliper. | |

| Give your civi's in return. They won't even know the difference! | |

Damn, nail on the head for the revolving cycle! This is exactly why you should worry Justin! We all do it that's the bad part... Who knows if that warranty "vette" starter will actually be a Corvette P/N after it is re-manufactured!

| I believe this is also an issue with the steering box if you ever wanted the "SS" one. I thiiiink the "SS" box is actually a Jeep Grand Cherokee box from the 1990s. I seem to remember Billy M. talking about this. A lot of non-SS spec boxes got turned in as them and therefore you don't know what you get when you buy a reman'd one. Haha.
Personally I don't have a problem with people here turning in stuff that isn't what it's supposed to be, I would too. Lots of other people have done the same thing, so whatever. But check what you're getting!

| Steering box is a whole other animal. If you look up the interchange on rockauto, they used the box on everything from AMC to GMC. | |

| I think Matt is specifically referring to the quick ratio, 2.5 turn box that is the 9C1/ss/grand Cherokee. | |

| I always ask for a vette starter if the starter in the box is the big one.

| Well, since I'm going to screw A-zone. How wide are the 9C1 calipers supposed to be so I can measure them once I pick em up? | |
