So this is what happens when my weekend has an extra day and my wife isn't paying close enough attention...

Yesterday, my afternoon started off like this...


Then I traveled 120 miles or so northwest, through the mountains, enjoying views like this:


Now, this is not a vehicle that I would typically buy, but...




So I loaded it up...

And off I went.

Yeah, so... Towing a 5000 pound bitch, at night, through the mountains, in torrential downpours, on a trailer that's way underrated for the load for 100 miles isn't nearly as much fun as you'd think it'd be... But at least the driver's window was down the whole way because I had to Dukes of Hazzard it to get out. *rolleyes* But it was worth it. So worth it.

Last night, fresh off the trailer and soaking wet inside.


This morning's view out the kitchen window... Not so bad.


Now the good stuff. It's the BEST COLOR COMBINATION ever offered by a manufacturer! Medium Adriatic Blue with a blue top and blue leather brougham guts! And even though it's only an L05, it's a true 90K mile, snowbird survivor! Not a spec of rust! And. I. Freaking. STOLE. IT.

So, it's the greatest thing ever. And I'm keeping it forever. Unless I sell it (and double my money EASY) or just cruise it. But I'm definately leaving it alone. Well, tint, exhaust, tunes, wheels and tires, and more lower don't count. If I do ended up keeping this dream combination? Well, LSx motors don't care what they're replacing.

Ever seen an L05 with dual electric fans? Me neither. Til now.


So the plan for now is to fix a few minor issues (AC, Valve cover leaks, blower motor, ABS/TC light, and interior lights staying on) and then lower it and drive it! I'm gonna enjoy the quiet and the mileage! That is, until I decide that I don't...

Keep it.

I put more than 100 miles on it today. And aside from those damn hubcaps ticking and rattling, it was a nice uneventful experience.

Also, It cleaned up pretty good for detailing it in the dark, in the 40's, with dew forming everywhere. Mother's Showtime and windex on the stainless...

Been aquiring parts. Got a full tune up via eBay (a buncha different sellers) for 83 bucks shipped. Including: plug wires, ignition coil, ICM, PCV valve, air filter, breather filter, and fuel filter. I figured that I was gonna get cheap chinese crap anywhere, even GM, so I figured I'd pay chinese money for it! Got plugs at the zone and need to pick up a belt, too. I also got a set of Moog 5662 front springs and cc501 rear springs for 118 bucks shipped from Amazon. But I just gotta decide if I'm keeping it or not before I lower it...

So I cleaned and disinfected the rat cage/blower motor and finally put that back in. I "borrowed" the resistor from the Marshmallow when it didn't work, and whaddya know...? It has ICE COLD AIR! Woot!

I also ordered a radio with a CD for it, but the damn guts are in the trunk. Gonna be more of a project than I thought for that... But hey, I'm getting there!

I think it should be kept based on a few facts:

Eveyone needs 1 daily driver that gets better gas mileage than the rest of the fleet. It's actually sad some of us have a small fleet of cars.

It's MAB, or some variant of it.

It's also pretty clean and rust free.

It's going to look totally badass once it's draggin nutz.
