| You know the trim that surrounds the woodgrain on my wagon? It's also woodgrained? Well, mine is peeling all over and looks bad, so I want to replace it with a good set or get another peeling set to strip, paint, and then install. You have these pieces? | |

| Got a 96 lt1 Layin around by any chance? Lol. My stepfathers car still doesn't run right. Actually it runs like shit, master tech at my shop says due to low compression :/ | |

| Dave- I threw all those pieces out.
Paul- is the compression caused by the heads being changed? That motor ran great when in the FWB.
I do have a 96 motor but I'd ask $700 for it (don't really wanna sell it) 53k miles from a b4u caprice. No issues when it was in the Car. Frame rotted out and the car was parted out (on here actually)

What pieces do you need? I have most, if not all of a full set that are stripped and another set woodgrained if Indy doesn't have any.

| I'm not sure of the head swap causing low compression, it is a 96 head on a 94 block. Assumed the heads were the same? Low compression is on that side though | |

| When they drilled through the head they didn't get into the block did they? Which cylinder is low (during Leak down test?) I got a 94 head he can have for free if it'll get the car running good. And I know I had good compression with this cars engine.
No sticking valves or anything in that caddy? Was the 96 head the one that was originally leaking?

| Only thing to cause bad compression: Valves, guides, seats, rings, hole in piston, hole in block Here's a pic of that motor in case anyone else wants a 1996 53k mile motor. | |

All of the above; Plus possibly a bad (blown) head gasket, incorrect valve timing (jumped teeth timing chain/sprocket), scored or raw fuel-washed down cylinder walls, a cracked cylinder head, loose or missing spark plug core, collapsed skirt, causing a badly tipped piston, broken con-rod-(piston not moving) or bent con-rod-(low piston), worn (wiped) cam lobes, broken or collapsed lifters, bent pushrods, excess carbon in ring lands (rings glued stuck), cylinder head torched between adjacent chambers, carbon-build-up debris trapped between valve and seat. Valves, if the stems are good and bent, or the valve head is warped or torched will drop compression, but worn guides are not a guarantee of low compression, although it is possible. A fairly loose guide will still allow the valve spring to close and seal up a good valve into it's good seat. A restriction of air delivery can cause low compression also, if severe enough. There is more, but I think some careful diagnosis directly on the engine is in order. Has low compression been confirmed as a real & repeatable defect?

| I'd like to pickup one of those RMW climate controls if you still have them. | |
